I will be in LA with my 1yo visiting family. Since we are flying into Orange County, we are going to stay two nights at Grand Californian before heading to LA.

We will have one day for park fun. I've been to Disneyland and California Adventure once before with just DH before DD was born. I have been to WDW countless times.

If it's just my and my 1yo, do you think we should just spend the whole day at Disneyland and skip California Adventure? I love how easy it is to bounce between parks, but I think Disneyland will have the most overall targeted at a 1yo (she has already been to WDW and loves rides, characters, fireworks, shows etc). At WDW, we did the parks from morning through evening and she did great so we won't need a break - she's a star stroller napper.

Do you think with one day it is a mistake to skip California Adventure?

I say always get a hopper because the parks are so close. Even if you don't get a chance to do everything a one year old can do, due to crowds, it is still great to just walk around cars land and DCA at night. It is beautiful. Whatever you decide have a great trip.

This question gets asked a lot here. My suggestion is to get the Hopper, otherwise it's like only getting to see and use half the park.
We would never consider anything but.

You don't need to decide until you get there. A one day hopper is a lot more expensive than a one day base so just spend time in DL, and if you feel the need to hop you can upgrade.

My dd is almost 2, and her favs include Little Mermaid and the Disney Jr show, both in DCA, so I say hoppers!
