One park day - which park?

We visit about once a year and usually have an AP but we canceled the AP and took the refund. We are coming next month for 5 nights. We are thinking about going to one park for one day. The cost of tickets is brutal when we are used to having an AP.

We like all of the parks but we aren't sure which park would be best with the new reduced hours, experiences, etc.

I am leaning towards MK since it seems the most bang for our buck but HS has two new to us rides and we love TSL. I am just afraid that we could be done HS by noon and then what? PHs are really expensive for a one day ticket so I am trying to avoid that.

Sounds like your heart is in HS. So what if you are done by noon? Do re-rides! Make and ADR. Stop in a lounge... or two. Shop. Take your time and mosey. Soak it all in. See the Mickey Shorts. Have a more relaxed kind of day.

If you weren't a "regular" I would agree with MK, but with Toy Story Land and Star Wars I would lean to HS. As PP said make an ADR or 2, do some shopping, and then hit your favorites for a 2nd time.

If it were me, and I was only doing 1 day, I'd see which park had the longest hours and do that one. ( Get the most out of my time ). If all things are equal, I'd do Hollywood Studios with the hopes of getting a RotR boarding pass. The bonus to HS is that you can get a slightly later start ( since you can try for the 1st boarding group from your room or home if you are within the mileage supported ) and just take things a bit slower. Wait times have been high for Mickey's Railroad even with less crowds and Smuggler's run has been up there too.

The longest park hours is a good point! They haven’t extended hours yet for our dates but they should in the next week hopefully.

Another concern for HS is if you don’t get a BG that is one less ride available.

I’d look into trying to get your AP back. They have been allowing people to get them on a case by case basis in person at guest services. Can’t hurt to ask. With that said I’d go for HS. Rotr and mmrr are great rides that you should definitely try.

I'd pick the park with the longest hours on the day I intend to go if it was just one day!

We are going in March for a long weekend and were thinking of purchasing a 1D ticket for either Epcot - because we love the WS - or Animal Kingdom because we're staying at Jambo. If we were younger we might look at the longest open park but the odds are no matter what we pick we're not going to stay more than half a day.

I am sure I could get my AP back but we don't necessarily plan to visit enough to make it worth while. We have DVC points to use which is why we are coming down. Disney has decreased the park experience so much that we don't plan to come again until Disney offer's more.
