One night stay preceding full trip: when to book ADR?

I think I know the answer to this, but I need you lovely, knowledgeable people to confirm.

We booked our original trip to begin Nov 27 (with hotel and all). We then decided we wanted to get there a day early so we had to book a one night stay at another hotel on property. So now our vacation "starts" the 26th by Disney's standards. Can we then make ADR's starting 180 days before the 26th (aka May 30)??

Does Disney have some special algorithm? Do they think I'm just there for one night and thus, cannot make ADR's for any day that following week or is it just "hey you checked in on this date so you can make ADRs for any day following..."?

You could book the first full day with the first hotel stay but then you need to wait until the next day to book the rest of the stay.

You can actually make ADR's for the 26th and the 27th (check-in and check-out day of your first night's stay) on 5/30. Then on 5/31, you can make your ADR's for the 28th through the end of your vacation (up to 10 days).

I also have a package with a room only the night before and have tried booking today for the room only night as well as the following day (check out day from the room only) but it will only let me book my room only check in day not the following/check out day.

I have a one night cash reservation preceding my DVC stay. I was able to book both the check-in and check-out days (2 days) when I was 180 days from check-in.

Ugh - what a pain! And I'm on the west coast so that's two mornings in a row of waking up at 3am to book a reservation. Really wish they would push the times a bit.
