One night room reservation before our current trip begins questions

i currently have a room for a week with tickets booked for August onsite. I booked dining at 180 days and fast pass reservations at 60 Days. Now thinking I may add a one night stay at a different resort the night before our week begins since we may arrive a day earlier. However I’m still on the fence about arriving the day earlier. If I book this first night room only now I can get the room I want and with a discount. My questions are
1. if I book now and decide to cancel the week before if we decide not to arrive a day early will canceling this one night cancel my current fast passes I have booked with my original reservation?
2. Also they usually do ship magic bands a couple of weeks before trip. If they already ship before we leave and I cancel seven days out then can I just return them to the front desk when we check in for our week vacation? I’m afraid if we do decide a week out to arrive early they may not have availability and I would have to pay rack rate. Thanks for any guidance.
