One night only where should I stay?

Flying in alone to help drive people home to NY. I have one night and will be doing one day of Magic Kingdom. Suggestions where you would stay within reason on property?

I’ll be helpful…. I don’t think it matters much unless you are in a rush to get back to the resort. Personally I wouldn’t be to drive to NY - lived there my entire life now near there but still work in NYC.
Whatever your budget allows. WL is nice most reasonable resort that is close and very relaxing with good food options. One of the port Orleans resorts also relaxing with good food options - don’t have a lot of experience with all mods but stayed at a few a long time ago and that was the one I liked the most. Can’t help with values suggestions but did stay at ASM once when it first opened.

Will you be park hopping at all? I love staying at Dolphin, and usually start at Epcot and park hop over to MK after a nice lunch in World showcase. Has a lot of the perks of Deluxe, usually cheaper

If I was there for one night and planned on doing a park day, I'd stay at AllStarsMusic and save the hotel money for food and snacks. You aren't going to be in the room much, except to sleep and shower, so why pay bigger bucks to the mouse for a resort you won't have time to enjoy?

It depends on your idea of “within reason”.

For values. One of the All Stars will give you the best value for your dollar. I have stayed in all three of them since they did their room refurbishment and they are virtually identical to the rooms at Pop now. Since you are going to MK only, there is no point in paying for the Skyliner premium when you wouldn’t be using it.

For moderates. I prefer POFQ, but some of the reasons I prefer it might not matter for a one night stay (the easy access to DS and the relaxing atmosphere). If you want to stay at a moderate, none of them are horrible so I would pick whichever one gives you the lowest price.

For Deluxe/DVC. If you decide to go with a deluxe (perhaps there are after hours at MK the day you are going?), I would pick something in the MK vicinity. This would include WL, CCV, BRV, CR, BLT, Poly, PVB, GF, and VGF. Again, I have stayed at most of them and for one night would recommend whichever one has the lowest rate. It’s not that the other deluxe/DVC properties are bad, but for one night, convenience would play a big part in my recommendation.

For a one night stay before a long car ride and if all you’re doing is MK I would just get a garden wing room at CR. The proximity to MK is what matters the most here and is what you are paying for with that.

This is the rare time Swan/Dolphin is a bad move imo because they don’t use Disney buses anymore and you do not want to mess with the TTC on a 1 day trip. I would avoid values and mods for similar reasons, cutting out transportation. You don’t have time and you want to avoid the hassle of buses. Especially if you plan to see HEA that night. Nothing else matters here as much as minimizing the hassle of getting home so you can get a decent night’s sleep before that trek to NYC, and it’s worth paying for imo.

This.

If I am by myself, I want a hotel with interior corridors for safety reasons. Even staying preferred at an all stars, you can still be isolated and have to walk down dim corridors. I experienced this myself at ASMo. I was with my family but though, wow I'm glad I'm not by myself.

WL would be a good pick. Close to MK, not as expensive as other deluxes in the area.

Another option would be the tower at CSR.

If money is not an issue, I suggest WL. It is close to MK, just a short relaxing boat ride away, and as a solo traveler, indoor corridors. It's also fairly compact so not a lot of walking and very peaceful and relaxing.

Whatever the Disney booking algorithm will let you book, one night stays can be hard to come by sometimes to prevent orphan rooms.
Book a multi-day stay and call Disney and drop what you don’t need. It requires some sort of override on their end but they almost always approve it. And if they don’t just cancel your res.

“Within reason” is ridiculous criteria for a Disney hotel. Some people consider $1k reasonable and others consider anything over $200 unreasonable. Look up your date and see your options and then decide what price points are acceptable to YOU.

That said…
@kylenne makes an excellent point about the drive the next day. Values and mods will save you dough but imho beyond the inconvenient transportation they can be hard to get a good nights sleep in. I’ll do a value for my first night of a week trip as I’m dead tired on arrival but beyond that I want interior hallways to feel secure, the ability to not hear every single toilet flush in all the surrounding rooms and the ability to not hear every single person walk by outside my room. If I expected to be awake enough to start a long drive the next day I’d want a Disney Deluxe hotel or CSR Tower.

That would require talking to a human being, I don't even order from the better pizza place here because I have to call 😂
