Hi,

I'm planning an overnight in Gatwick Hilton for August night before we fly - hopefully in one of their big family rooms. I've shedloads of Tesco vouchers and would love to use these for it.

Does anyone know the best way to do this? I think I read that Tesco vouchers for Hiltons has a 2-night minimum stay - anyone know any way round this?

Thanks,

Tim

You can stay at Gatwick for 1 night. We stayed here a few weeks ago using Tesco vouchers it was approx £150

i tried for aug and they said they were not accepting CC vouchers in aug
tracy

Bummer :(

What is it to them whether they accept CC vouchers or not, they still get remuneration - don't understand that.

It's because they get such a low return when someone pays with Tesco vouchers. My company (who uses them) gets 25% of the value back from Tesco.

i tried to book for August a couple of weeks again and was told that they can only book up till the end of june as the tesco rates arent out yet for dates after that. so im going to try again toward the end of feb and hopefully the rates will be out by then.

just keep trying

We're off in 4 weeks and are staying one night at the Hilton using deals. We booked via their website using the promotion code PR20TC and it then came up with Tesco Deals Room. It was £122.50 for the one night, so we're using £120 worth of deals.

Hope that helps :)

I tried to book the Hilton for one night in August (the 24th) a couple of weeks ago and was told there were no Clubcard rate rooms available for August - whether that is because they haven't been released yet or whether there just aren't any, I don't know.

I would be surprised f rates hadn't been released yet since I recall booking for October 09 way back in November 08.

Just thought I would 'bump' this to let you know I have just managed to book a night at the Hilton for August using Clubcard vouchers so they have obviously 'released' the rates now

Excellent - ta for info. OUt of interest, how did you book - website? phone? Any difficulties? Any tips?

Thanks,

Tim

Tim, I booked by phone using the number given in the Hilton info on the Tesco website. No hints or tips except bear in mind that the rate they give you (ours was £124 for a double room) does not include VAT so the total was £145.70 - this time she told us that but last time we booked they did not tell me the inclusive amount and, had I not noticed on the confirmation email, I wouldn't have exchanged enough vouchers.

Don't forget the rate includes breakfast as well - since it only cost £35 in Tesco vouchers, I consider it an absolute bargain :)

I have just booked a family room (2 adults 2 children) for October using tesco clubcard vouchers. I booked online using the code PR20TC, cost with VAT was £192.70 (£47.50 in vouchers). This is a large room with a double and 2 twin beds and includes breakfast. So looks like tesco bookings can now be made for (most of) the rest of the year now.

Got my Gatwick Hilton booking made for one night in August with Tesco vouchers no problem - family room for 3 adults and 2 kids. Great way to save £200!! :)

But it states in the terms and conditions a 2 night weekend stay is required - do they not enforce this and any recommendations on what to do with your car for 2 weeks. I have already booked a Saturday night in July with Gatwick Hilton and 15 nights car parking and dinner but its costing £259 so if I could bring this down that would be very nice !

Yep, they don't enforce it. We've got one night midweek, no hassles, no queries. We're leaving our car in Belfast as we're connecting from there. Sorry don't know what a good car option in Gatwick is.

The Hilton at Gatwick is the only exception to this rule - all other Hiltons you have to book a 2-night stay.

We are parking our car in the long-stay Parking Plus at Gatwick (just across from the Hilton) at a cost of about £90 (still cheaper than the hotel and parking combo)

Thanks Joh, have cancelled my Hilton booking, ordered Tesco deals on line and will re book a 'Tesco room!' including breakfast when they arrive. Have booked into NCP short stay car park for £92, it is within walking distance so no transfers and looks like we may be able to go an stick our overnight stuff in the car rather than keep it with us. I was planning on doing twilight check in and was wondering what to do with our overnight stuff

Lizzy, don't wait for your Deals tokens to arrive - book it now. You get 7 days to sed the tokens in but, to be honest, I have sent mine in a couple of weeks later and it was fine.

Joh - me again sorry!!!!

Going to book now, had e mail saying tokens are on their way so just have to wait a day or so for them to arrive. How did you send your off - special/recorded delivery? I assume you know they have arrived by checking Royal Mail tracking system as I believe you don't get your 'money off' vouchers for Hilton until a couple of weeks before you go.

To OP sorry for hijacking your thread:flower3:
