One night DP ressie?

If I book the first night separately, check out and then check back in for the rest of my trip...will the credits still be good until midnight of the second day of my trip?

Yes.

Remember though, that if you're not DVC or an annual passholder that you will have to buy park tickets with both reservations if you want DDP on both of them. If you only want DDP on the first night, buy tickets for the full stay with that reservation.
