Hi, everyone! My mom will be joining my family for a trip to WDW next May. For 4 out of 5 nights we'll be staying at Beach Club Villas, but on our first night I thought it might be fun to try a moderate, since we've never stayed at one. I have read wonderful reports about all of the mods, but for some reason the atmosphere/theming of CBR and POFQ appeals to me the most. I am leaning towards CBR at the moment, mostly because of the fact that I've read the rooms are a bit bigger there. DH and I will be traveling with our 3 DSs (one of whom is an infant) and I don't want to feel awfully cramped -- even for one night! We'd originally considered staying at an All Star (our older DSs would love ASMo or ASSpo, I'm sure!), but the size of the rooms has dissuaded me from that option. And, quite honestly, I'm not sure my mom would like the All Star atmosphere.

And speaking of my mom, she is someone who really likes to stay at deluxe resorts... To those familiar with both of these resorts, which would be more appealing to someone like her? If we stayed at CBR, which area should we request? I've read good things about Aruba and Jamaica -- are they pretty conveniently located?? If we stayed at POFQ, which would be the prime location there??

Thanks for any advice/suggestions,
Sarah

POFQ is great! My family and I really enjoy the location because it is quiet and along the Sassagoula River. We really loved taking the boat ride to DTD and back. We liked staying in the original "Dixie Landings" mansion area. It was convenient to the pools, bus stop and main building. The only negative is the size of the rooms. They are small. Two full size beds, and a small round table barely fit in the space. It didn't bother us much because we only slept there. We really didn't need much more space. But, if you are traveling with more that four, you really need to reconsider or book multiple rooms. Good luck... I'm sure you will enjoy your trip no matter where you stay!

I've stayed at both. I like PO-FQ better, but just because the resort is smaller.

So, since you are only staying one night, I would stay at CBR.

Noticed this message was getting lost so I just thought I'd bump it up!!

Thanks for the suggestions so far... Any other recommendations??

I love CBR. Larger rooms than other moderates. Privacy curtains between the bathroom/dressing area and the rest of the room.

Since you'll have an infant with you, and presumably a crib, the rooms at CBR would give you much more space for it.

POFQ is my least favorite of the moderates though I did like the interior decore of the room. It feels a but more formal than the CBR. I love the casual and colorful feel at CBR. I like the tropical ambiance and the wide open vistas over the lake. The rooms have been redone since I was there and they look great. I like the look of the Jamaica section best. I feels a bit more deluxe like. It is located across the lake from the food court and main pool but has its own pool. You can get to the food court by crossing over a bridge to Parrot Cay island and then across another bridge. It is a nice walk.
