We're booked for one night at Sports before checking in at YC. What can I expect to find in my room, ie. toiletries, haird dryer, etc? Need to know what to pack in the small bag. Also, do the towels seem to be smaller since it's a value or are they the same as the deluxes? The reason I ask is we will have two DDs with us and with showers and hair, I need to know if we will need to take extras with us or just try to get them at check in. TIA!

We have stayed at POP and Beach Club and the rooms at POP are more like a Holiday Inn and you still get, toiletries and to be honest I don't think there is a difference in the towels for either place. The beds are smaller and a little more firm and I can't recall if there is a hair dryer ( I think there is one). There is no little fridge. The rooms aren't as nice as a DX but I think for the price and not being in the room that much I would for sure stay at POP again.
We are going in Jan.08 and the values and mods were sold out so we are staying at AKL. Don't get my wrong I loved AKL and other DX resorts but since my kids are little they just love being at Disney and don't care where we stay.LOL
And for one night you will be just fine I think.
Have a GREAT trip!!!:wizard:

I've never stayed at Sports, but I stayed at Pop this past September. We had a hair dryer in our room, but my youngest DD complained that it took forever to dry her hair. She has really thick, long hair. It was fine for me though. I asked for extra towels and got more than enough. The towels were okay...not great, but okay. We had a daily supply of MM soaps and shampoo/conditioner-in-one.

On the plus side...it had, by far, the best food court of any WDW resort we've stayed at and we got towel animals every day. We liked it enough that we'll be back there next September. We're taking the whole famdamily then; children, their spouses, grandchildren. We need four rooms, so my budget only allows for a value that trip.

We "slummed" it at a Value (ASMo):snooty: for 1 night prior to our 7 day stay at AKL last week. LOL j/k, it was a nice stay. The saying that you can hear everything in the next room is dead on. I got up to brush my teeth and i heard a noise. I checked to see if my toilet or bathtub was leaking. I then realized that it was the person next door in the next room after i heard the flush. You can really hear regular voice volume conversations in the next room too. Paper thin walls is the best way to describe them. The room looked refurbished too; new paint, wallpaper, appliances, etc.

The towels are smaller and thinner. We took 1 in our suitcase by accident and then compared it to the towels at AKL. I wish i would have taken a picture as there was a difference in texture and a slight difference in size.

Thanks guys, that's what I needed to know. So I'll bring my hair dryer (I keep one in my big suitcase anyway, with three females it would take us till noon otherwise, I'll bring the sound machine (DH mentioned taking that anyway), I don't need the shampoo ( remembered something years back where they had shampoo in a dispenser at one of the values) Not bad so far.

We stayed at All-star Sports a little over a week ago for one night. We just went down for MVMCP. The upside - room had just been refurbished. Down- side - strong smell of new carpet? paint? some sort of chemical. Also, they were refurbishing the building directly oposite the courtyard and started bringing out some big machinery early in the am (8 a.m. or so). Didn't bother me, I was already awake, or my daughter (she sleeps like the dead) but I can see were it might disturb others trying to sleep. I wouldn't worry for one night - it was fine for that.

At ASMo, the dispensers are gone in leiu of small individual shampoo and conditioner bottles. I hated those dispensers as they always broke on me trying to use them. LOL They make quite a noise when they hit the tub and wake up everyone in earshot.:rotfl2:

Unless you are EXTREMELY picky, Sports for one night will be fine. If you need a stronger hair dryer, that's about all you willh have to pack. If you do need extra towels, all you have to do is get them at the front desk.

SO there is a hair dryer? I remember seeing posts where people asked.
