"One More Waffle!" An October 2011 TR! *Update 4/24, pg 70-The End!*

That new apple cake at LTT does sound really good! Everything there does, actually!

I love Brandon's "excited" picture on the TTC! :rotfl: I don't think DBF is as enthralled with it as I am either...but it's such a nice little ride!

The rudest person in Disney? Uh oh... :sad2:

Great start to the Halloween party. sounds like the lines were great up till party time. Curious to hear what a sold out Halloween party looks like. I've been twice, but neither was super crowded. I did do a sold out Christmas party and I won't be doing it again in December, if that tells you how I felt about that! :rotfl:

Love LTT! I have a lunch ADR there for December. I decided to scale back my ADRs, but that one is a keeper!:thumbsup2

I love the photos and I have never noticed those Halloween statues. Next time we do the party I will have to look for them. It has been a few years since we've done the Halloween Party though...but I think we may have to try to do it again in the future.

Of course, I hear the decorations at Disneyland for Halloween are even better! DH told me last night he'd really like to plan to go to California in 2013 with the family so maybe we will have to plan it for a weekend with Halloween in mind! ;)

great updates, Jen!

I called out of work today (we have no power, heat, or electricity so we moved in with my brother for a few days) so I'm actually able to see your pics! I LOVE the pic with Cinderella's coach! Even though it's not all lit up, it's still a really nice picture! And your pics from WL are beautiful! I'm sorry you guys didn't like CSR! Getting lost in the dark is soo frustrating! That's how I felt about POP. As much as I loved being IN Disney World....we couldn't check out of POP fast enough...even though it meant going home!

Can't wait to hear about the Halloween Party! I can't believe it was sold out so early in the month! Usually, it's the ones during the last week of October that sell out! I hope the rude person isn't a CM!

I too would be completely clueless as to how to "attack" a Halloween party in order to get the most out of it.

I'm glad you were feeling better during MNSSHP! I have that same shirt and wore it during my trip. Also I love Brandon's shirt. I remember seeing it in the Disney Store and having to take a picture of it because it was so funny and wanting to share it with others. I can't wait to hear about this rude person!

Thanks! I love that shirt! I don't wear a lot of Disney shirts in real life, but I'll probably wear that one! I love Brandon's shirt too, I bought it for him at the Disney store a few months ago and told him he better wear it! I wasn't sure if he'd like it, but he does! :thumbsup2

I love the castle hub statues for Halloween, they are just too cute :)

Looking forward to reading about your experience at the party :)

I love those statues too, I wish they did something like that for Christmas as well! :thumbsup2

I loved all the Halloween statues, but I somehow missed Minnie Mouse! It looks like it was really cute.
LTT dinner sounds really yummy. But, then again, can't go wrong with turkey and stuffing. :cutie:

I can't even imagine how crazy the Halloween party was. :scared1: I hope the night became smoother.

Minnie was so cute, that's too bad that you missed her!

LTT was awesome, you're right, turkey and stuffing can never really be bad!

Nice picture with Cinderella's carriage! Can't wait to hear more about what your (sold out!) party experience was like. I do think I'm with you on preferring the Christmas party, but we enjoyed the Halloween one too. Oh no, a super rude person :scared1:

Thanks! The sold out party was pretty insane, especially after the fireworks, but I'll get to that in a few updates! I loved the Halloween party, but I just love Christmas, so now that I can compare the 2, I think I prefer the Christmas party!

Yay I'm all caught up! :thumbsup2

I loved hearing about your time so far at the MK waiting for MNSSHP to start! We've only done the Christmas party and I too felt overwhelmed and wished I would have planned better! I love the picture of you two in front of Cinderella's coach, it's adorable :goodvibes

I want to try LTT for lunch one day. I'm glad to hear you say you liked lunch better than dinner!

BTW, I started my Disneymoon PTR!
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2825619

Jump on over if you get a chance!

Yay!

I think the next time I go to a party at Disney, I'm going to have a plan...I hate the idea of planning too much, but when it's that crowded, it's kind of necessary. I mean, I had an idea of what I wanted to do, but once I was there, it went out the window!

LTT is awesome for lunch, I will definitely be going there again!

Yay, I can't wait to read your Disneymoon PTR, I'll be over as soon as I finish up my responses! :woohoo:

Great pics of MK with the Halloween decorations! :thumbsup2 I agree in that a Disney vacation doesn't feel complete until you've seen the castle

Mmm Disney popcorn in the Mickey ghost bucket - did you go back and get some later?

I'm glad you enjoyed LTT for dinner and had heard about the new dessert - am glad you really liked it!

Great shot in front of the coach and I'm looking forward to hearing about the rest of the party! :goodvibes

Thanks! I sometimes wish we would start our vacations at MK, but I just can't wait to go to Epcot! Epcot is my home, just like WL! :rotfl:

I did get popcorn later, but I didn't get the Mickey bucket, it was just too much $$. :confused3

The dessert was good, I was so looking forward to apple crisp, but the cake was awesome!

Thanks, I bought a frame from DTD on one of our last days and I will probably use that coach picture for it...it's rare for us to get a good picture together! :rotfl:

I felt the same way at the party!!!! We all know that I'm a planner too especially when my parents are in town but we pretty much went with the flow and it turned out okay.

Can you believe that the parties this weekend and Halloween are not sold out yet but Sept 30th was?!

LOL, that party was stressful! I mean, we made the best of it and we had a good time, but I just felt so lost for a little while!

I can't believe the Halloween weekend parties are not sold out, that's typical!

I love WL! Haven't stayed there yet, but we've visited a couple times now and we just think it's amazing!

Can't wait to hear more about the party!

You should definitely stay at WL! If you ever go for the holidays, try to stay there at that time, it's so beautiful! :lovestruc

When we went to LTT in July, I was disappointed too at first when I found out that they didn't have the apple crisp. But you are so right. OMG, I ate the apple craisin cake, and I wasn't sad anymore. :lmao:

I love all of the touches that they have during MNSSHP. It's really the details that make it so much fun to go.

Can't wait to hear how it went with it being so crowded. :scared1:

Isn't that cake so good??? I was surprised, it doesn't look like much, but it's great! I love ice cream on top of cake, it just goes so well together! :thumbsup2

I love Disney during the holidays, Halloween or Christmas, I love all the extra things in MK!

LTT looks so good. I wish we had made an adr there.

I didn't even see those statues. I love when Minnie is in costume.:lovestruc

LTT is really good, you should try it next time you go!

I can't believe you missed the statues, but I guess if you weren't near the hub at all, they're pretty easy to skip!

I'm glad you enjoyed your LTT dinner. We've only done lunch and I'd like to go back; we skip dinner because I am so NOT a Thanksgiving meal person (don't like turkey and will only eat my stuffing  ; but I'd be eating that ham you were served).

Our MNSSHP party was insane (I've not gotten to that part of my TR yet). I'm glad you guys were abl eto get a picture with Cinderella's Coach (Mark didn't want to do this)--it's a great shot.

LOL, I could eat Thanksgiving dinner every day of my life! The stuffing was good, but of course, I prefer real stuffing...but still, to me, any stuffing is good! :thumbsup2

I can't believe the party you went to was crowded too! :scared1: Can't wait to read about it in your TR! Looks like everyone is catching on to go to Disney in September! :sad2:

Im so sad we didnt get a picture in front of the coach, I really love that pic of you two!! We were going to but I think there was probably around a 30 minute to 45 minute wait for it :headache:

Aww, that's too bad that you didn't get a picture with the coach! It was one of the things I had to do, I knew it would be a while since I'd be going back for Halloween, so I'm glad we did it! I'm not sure I'd wait 45 minutes, though, that's a long time for one picture!

I love the Peoplemover :) We always go on it!

I'm excited to hear more about your time at MNNSHP and hear about this rude person! I dislike encounters with rude people at WDW- that should never happen; everyone should be happy :)

The Peoplemover is so much fun! :cool1:

LOL, these people were so rude, I wanted to punch them...ugh...I gotta do an update soon so I can tell you guys about it! :rotfl2:

Great MK pics! Can't wait to hear more about the party!

And the rudest person ever... sounds interesting :scared1:

Thanks! The party was a lot of fun...the rude person, not so much! It seriously could have ruined my night if I let it! Ugh!

That new apple cake at LTT does sound really good! Everything there does, actually!

I love Brandon's "excited" picture on the TTC! :rotfl: I don't think DBF is as enthralled with it as I am either...but it's such a nice little ride!

The rudest person in Disney? Uh oh... :sad2:

LTT is great, I'm glad we tried it because before last year, I never had any interest in it, and now it's one of my favorites! :cool1:

LOL, I guess guys don't get the greatness that is the Peoplemover, it's so much fun! I love seeing all of Tomorrowland like that!

Thanks! The party was fun, but I kind of wish it wasn't sold out! That whole weekend was insane, because the next night was the 40th anniversary!

Christmas parties sell out? :scared1: That would make me so upset...of course, the 2 I've been to were in November, and no one was there, but I guess in December it picks up! I'd love to go to one in December, closer to Christmas, but if it was sold out, forget it!

You have to keep LTT for lunch, it's awesome! I wonder if they decorate in there for the holidays, I bet it's so pretty and cozy! :lovestruc

I love the photos and I have never noticed those Halloween statues. Next time we do the party I will have to look for them. It has been a few years since we've done the Halloween Party though...but I think we may have to try to do it again in the future.

Definitely look for the statues, they are on the outside of the hub, you can't miss them! :thumbsup2

I want to do Disneyland for Halloween SO bad! Have you watched their fireworks on youtube? Jack Skellington narrates them and Zero flies around the castle, it's so cool! Hope you get to go! :cool1:

great updates, Jen!

I called out of work today (we have no power, heat, or electricity so we moved in with my brother for a few days) so I'm actually able to see your pics! I LOVE the pic with Cinderella's coach! I can't believe most of CT has no power, we pretty much got nothing down here! We got maybe 2 inches of snow, which I'm not happy about, but thankfully, we didn't get much wind! Hope you get everything back on quickly! :goodvibes

You didn't like Pop? Because it's too big? I think I would like Pop, I'd like to give it a try, but I just hope I haven't become too much of a deluxe snob that I can't ever enjoy a value again! :rotfl:

I can't believe the Halloween Party sold out either, just my luck! LOL, no, the rude person wasn't a CM, that would have been really upsetting! :scared1:

I too would be completely clueless as to how to "attack" a Halloween party in order to get the most out of it.

LOL! Like I said, I'm not a touring plan person at all, but I think it might be a good idea to have a plan for a party that's sold out! I felt so clueless, standing there in Fantasyland, trying to come up with a plan and figure out where we had to be at what times...I kept telling Brandon I'm not as good a Disney planner as I thought!

Just saw your pics! Great pics and I love the one of you and Brandon with the carriage!

I've been MIA for awhile... but I'm back, and catching up!

The WL is so lovely... I've only been inside to have dinner at WCC, but I love what I've seen! I really want to stay at a Deluxe on our next family trip and was leaning towards the Poly... but now, WL may just be a serious contender.

I've had lunch at LTT before and it was really good! I think dinner would be great, too. Glad to hear you enjoyed the meal.

Oh, and I love all the fall/Halloween decorations at MK, too! It's my favorite season, and I love all the leaves and pumpkins and colors!

And it occurred to me on my trip last month that (only counting the trips I've taken as an adult) I've never seen the MK when it's NOT decorated for fall/Halloween!

Yeah, we're in Naugatuck and about 65% of the town has no power as of 9am this morning. It started as 95% on Sunday so they ARE working on it. My brother lives in Stratford though and got hardly anything so we are lucky we can at least stay there for a few days. My dad lives in Bristol and also has no power....I was looking at the CL & P outage map on WNTH's website this morning, and there are towns and cities where 100% of the residents have no power.

I think that our trip in 2009 was just so frustrating in general that THAT is the reason I don't like Pop. Lumar's mom was really sick and in the hospital, and they called him at least once a day while we were on trip asking him if he would give a verbal DNR.... so it was really upsetting and frustrating. The whole mood and tone of the trip was very depressing and I think we kind of took it out on POP unfairly. Although we were in the Roger Rabbit building which is literally, the furthest building from the main building...and I just COULD NOT find my way around. I would go back to ASMovies in a heart beat though, and I've always wanted to try ASMusic....and of course, now I'm dying to see the new Animation Resort! Maybe one of these days.....:rolleyes1

Finally got to read your update now that I'm at work and power has been restored. YAY!

I love your picture with Cinderella's Coach, it came out very pretty. I like that even when it's not lit up it's still pretty.

I am very uneasy about this rudest person at Disney thing....:scared1:

I am enjoying your reviews as always! By the way, where did you get your purple Evil Queen shirt? I love it!!!

Just saw your pics! Great pics and I love the one of you and Brandon with the carriage!

Thanks! I like that one too, surprisingly, I never like pictures of us together, one of us always looks strange!

Yay! Oh wow, as much as I love WL, if you can stay at the Poly, stay there! That's my dream resort! :lovestruc

LTT is so good, I'd like to go there on every trip, but I also think I should probably try new places once in a while!

When Brandon and I went in May last year, it was weird to me, being in Disney during a non-holiday time! We seem to either go when Christmas or Halloween decorations are up!

I just can't believe this power outage nonsense...this is the new thing we have to deal with whenever we get storms now? Ughhh!! Hope you get your power back on soon! :goodvibes Glad you have somewhere to stay, at least!

Wow, that sounds like a stressful trip when you stayed at Pop, so I can understand not liking it! I think I unfairly took out my aggravation on CSR, since I felt awful the night we were there, so I should try it again someday!

Finally got to read your update now that I'm at work and power has been restored. YAY!

I am very uneasy about this rudest person at Disney thing....:scared1:

Yay, glad you got power back! :goodvibes

Thanks! The coach is so pretty, it would have been nice to do it later, but I'm glad we didn't really have much of a wait!

LOL...I'm sure there have been people much more awful than this one I encountered, but...this was pretty awful...to me, anyway. You guys might read it and take her side!

I am enjoying your reviews as always! By the way, where did you get your purple Evil Queen shirt? I love it!!!

Thanks! I got the Evil Queen shirt on disneystore.com, I'm not sure if they still have it, I got it a couple of months ago! If you have any actual Disney Stores near you, I'd check there, they might still have a few! :thumbsup2

Surprise!

Hi everyone!

I've been wanting to share this news with you for weeks, but I had to wait until I was 99% sure it was happening, and now I can say that it is...

We're going back to Disney...IN DECEMBER!!!! :dance3: :cool1: 38 days, to be exact!!

Basically, for those of you who don't know, I upgraded our MYW tickets to AP's while we were there last month, and between doing that, and seeing the Osborne Lights in DHS NOT lit up, I knew I had to beg Brandon to ok a quick December trip. It took a LOT of convincing, and I had to give up any Christmas presents I might have gotten from him this year, BUT...we're going! AHHHH!!! I can't wait! It's going to be a super quick, super cheap trip...our dates our 12-10 to 12-13 and we're going for 3 reasons~

1. To see this

IMG_2217.jpg

2. and these:

IMG_1668.jpg

3. and finally...The Candlelight Processional!!!

processional-300x210.jpg

I'm not going to be doing a PTR for this trip, but I will do another update or two about our plans for the 3 days we will be there, our ADR's, where we're staying, and how I kept this trip SO cheap (which I'm pretty proud of!)

Now I'm off to make a new ticker, finally! :dance3:

Are you sure you can't stay a few more days? :rolleyes1 Just sayin!

Congrats on your upcoming trip! :cool1:

Are you sure you can't stay a few more days? :rolleyes1 Just sayin!

Congrats on your upcoming trip! :cool1:

I wish! Unfortunately, if we want to go in May, Brandon has to save his vacation days til then, so he's using a personal day for this trip, and his stupid job won't let him string personal days. So he's using a personal day for Monday and we're flying home Tuesday morning, and he's going to work that night!

CONGRATS ON THE DEC TRIP!!!!!!!!!! Of course you have to put those APs to good use :) Can't wait for the details!!

I was wondering if you had another trip in the works since I saw your picture on facebook (I think?) of your AP. haha SO jealous you get to see the Christmas stuff.
