One more vent: The View

I know most of you will say "if you don't like it change the channel". The problem is I like Whoopie and Elisabeth.

BUT, I just had to turn off the TV. If Sherri mentions Jeffrey one more time I will have no choice but to kill her

OMG, that women turns every topic into a story about her son Jeffrey, his disability and being a single Mom. We know already!

Vent away!!! I also like the show but my issue is with Joy. She just totally gets my nerves in a twist. She is always making stupid comments/jokes about everything and 99% of the time she's not even funny!!! I don't have a problem with Sherri though. I do like her. She does turn a lot of things onto her son but that doesn't really bother me. I also like Whoopie. Elisabeth on the other hand......I can stand her for about 10 mins and then she gets under my skin.

I don't watch the View, but I can tell you that this happens in real life for some women. They can't seem to have a conversation about a topic, it all has to refer back to their kid (yes, this is usually when they only have one).

Example:

Me: That oil spill in the gulf is terrible.
Other mom: Yes, I was watching it on TV and then little Edward was watching and said "Boat" for the first time. Isn't that precious!
Me:

Sherri just happens to be on a national TV show so she get to tell her stories to millions of people.

Not saying I never talk about my kids, but I can hold a conversation beyond being a mom.

what are you talking about over???? I'm guessing you haven't seen the last hour of the Today Show recently..............Kathy Lee is at it again with pics of her DD and her son is also on the show sometimes doing interviews!!!

I like Whoopi, Elisabeth and Barbara.

I really don't like Sherri because she makes the stupidest comments I've ever heard on TV. It's one thing when someone casually says something not so smart but Sherri is being paid to be on TV for the sole reason of talking! And she does talk about her child, and personal life, way too much.

I don't like Joy because she involves herself in debates when she isn't knowledgeable about what she is talking about. That SNL "so what, who cares?" sums up Joy to me.

The one thing though I think I really dislike about The View is that Elisabeth is 95% of the time the only right-wing view. I'm not claiming to be a part of any side but it's never fun to be 1 vs. 4 all the time.

They all annoy me to some extent...depends on the day and the topic. I can tolerate Barbara the most.

I COULD NOT STAND Kathy Lee Gifford. I think she was much worse than Sherri ever is.

I really have to be in the right frame of mind for The View. I have my DVR set to record and keep 5, and very often one drops off to make room for the next. I figure if anything "really good" happens, I'll see it posted on here and then watch it on youtube.

That happened TODAY on the show. I rarely watch it. But, there is Elizabeth having to tell the world that her kid started crying because she wanted Mommy home with her yesterday.

Elizabeth: So I called the producer here yesterday and asked for the day off and he gave it to me. (Audience applauds

)

Something is wrong with me, because I CANNOT stand Elizabeth H, but I watch it simply to listen to her stick her foot in her mouth, over and over again.

Someone really needs to take the stick out of her butt and beat her over the head with it.

I don't know what they were at. I try not to listen to Elizabeth for very long. She sounds like a shrill Pebbles Flintstone. Does it matter whether home or school? It sounded like she still called in to work because her child needed her for a non-medical emergency. Am I wrong about that part? If her daughter broke her arm, I take it all back.

Yes, I do believe that the mothers of the world wish that they could do that. And as a kid who asked my mom to stay home Every Single Day, the children of the world likely wish it too.

Not sure I get why that would be a bad thing. And I won't even watch that show because of, well, all of them.

I never really cared for Whoopi - until I started watching The View.. Now I love her!

Joy can be annoying at times.. She tends to blow off serious issues as "no big deal" - kind of like she's living in la-la land..

Like Barbara - always have..

Like Sherri - even when she's talking about her son..

Elizabeth? Give me a break!!! No matter what anyone is talking about, she has to turn it into a political discussion and she is soooooooooo "over the top" with her views - anger at the current administration and worshipping of the former administration.. Sometimes I swear her head is going to explode - LOL..

Out of all of them, I would have to say my favorite is Whoopi..

I'm not an Elizabeth fan but I think you are misrepresenting what she said. The way I remembered it, they were at a school function and Elizabeth had to leave before it was over. Her daughter begged her to stay. So no other moms ever take a day off work to go to a kid's school function? She didn't just beg her to stay home with her on a whim.

I don't agree with Elisabeth's political views, but I do respect her right to her opinion. It's not easy to stick to your guns when everyone disagrees with you.

I think the only person who finds Joy funny is Joy.

I couldn't believe it last week when Sherri said Disney lets her cut the lines because Jeffrey can't pay attention for long!

I think the view stacks the deck against Elizabeth in an effort to make her views seem radical. Maybe I feel this way because I often find myself agreeing with her. Not always but frequently.
And she's the ONLY conservative opinion most of the time! I really think they should take Sherry out and put in someone who is funny and somewhat conservative in their opinions to make it a more balanced show.
