I know this has been asked before but I can't find where...what's the normal dining rotation for families with toddlers...and do they stick to this pretty consistently?

Thanks!

Deb

I think the common wisdom is that families with small childern start in Animator's Palate, the APL or APT rotation. How closely they stick to that has got to depend on how many children are on a given trip and what ages they are. On our last cruise, we (2 adults, no kids) had LAP as usual, but had a family with two young children at our table.

I would love to hear suggestions for us. We are me, DH & DD8. We eat out in nice restaurants a lot and while DD8 is not perfect, she is usually very lady-like in a restaurant. We would prefer to be in the rotation with the least liklihood of lots of small children. We have requested the late seating, but wonder what you experts think I should request as my rotation. Bear in mind that we are going on the 7 day Western, and the Thursday night of our cruise is Thanksgiving. I would prefer not to be in Parrot Cay for Thanksgiving, so I think then I am limited to LAP or PLA - which of these do you think is better???

We've cruised 2x and never been asked our preference for rotation. DCL assigns it and you have to try to change it if you don't like it.

I called today to try to request a dining rotation. Even though we are travelling with four small children, we are requesting the LAPLAPL rotation and second seating. This is because of our plans while we are in different ports would put us in the AP and PC on nights we plan to eat as a whole family. Also, with the later seating, we have more time to get dinner for our younger kids and get them settled in the clubs/Flounders before heading out for the evening. We don't ever have sitters at home, so we are hoping this works--- we can barely even imagine the luxury of a dinner for two, without anyone stealing all your croutons and cherry tomatoes!!! LOL!!

Anyway, our TA was very helpful and did call DCL. They said they do not allow people to request dining rotations, but that requests to change can be made once on the ship. The TA suggested going straight to the restarant to make the request when we arrive. Because of the age of our kids, I really doubt we would get the LAPLAPL rotation.

Just to clarify, I do understand that I cannot request ahead of time. I meant to ask which you would recommend so if I don't get what I want, I can change it on the ship.

Thanks.
