One more teething question - when does it end?

There must be a light at the end of the tunnel somewhere here for my DD. It seems like she's been teething nonstop for a year :( When does the major pain of teething end for most toddlers?

It ends when they get all their teeth. I know that sounds like a smart alek answer but really, that is the only answer, sorry. Every child is going to be different.

My mother told me that the second year is so much better for teething, but now I'm finding the opposite. I thought that the first year was so awful, but these molars really take the cake:sad2: I feel like my DD has spent her entire life suffering from near-constant teething pain:sad2:

Our oldest only had teething pain when he got his eye teeth. The twins had more trouble with molars but they didn't get their first teeth until they were over a year and those molars came in when they were 3. I know a lot of people don't like giving their kids medication but when they are in so much pain it really isn't very nice to make them suffer. I gave them Motrin for their pain but the big thing is that you have to give it every 6 hours or it really doesn't work all that well. Keeping a constant level in their system for a couple days is more effective then giving it here and there.

We're doing just that right now, and also Tylenol for the fever. You can alternate Tylenol and Motrin according to our ped. I refuse to let my DD suffer in pain. Unfortunately, even the Motrin isn't kicking all of the pain :(
