I seriously hope I'm not driving you all crazy and this will be my last question of the day. :)

We like character dining and I think my kids would get a big kick out of meeting some of the characters at Universal - huge Scooby, Shrek, and Spiderman fans here.

However, when I called the Universal resort dining number to get more information, I got somewhat vague answers. In particular for RPR, I was told that whoever shows up that day is who you get. I at least got a "usually, there is . . ." for HRH and PBR.

What's that about? Character meals aren't cheap, but we really look forward to them if we know who we're going to be seeing. Is that how it really works - that you just show up and not know for sure what characters are going to be there??? Seems a little odd.

We found there were just lots of characters everywhere when we were there this past week- Scooby,Shaggy, Dora-many on stilts, people dressed up as pies, cookies. It was great. Shrek you lined up for at a building but overall I found it way better than Disney for seeing characters everywhere.

That's true...It's never hard to see characters all over the place and the photo/autograph ops are great!

That's great to hear! The reason we do them at Disney is primarily so we don't have to wait in long lines. I'd rather at least be sitting down and eating while waiting to see them than just standing in a long line.
