Can I just say what are the heads of Disney thinking?! I get One Man's Dream is not the most popular attraction but how can you close it to bring in a preview for an upcoming movie! One Man's Dream should always be opened at the park as everyone should remember how Disney was started…or maybe heads of Disney don't want people to remember how and why it started because it goes against what they are doing with Disney now but that is besides the point. I'm just pissed that they are closing it so they can put a preview in for a movie! If I wanted to watch a preview for the movie, I would go on YouTube or some other internet site to watch it. I don't understand Disney closing an attraction to put a stupid preview in its place! So, angry right now with Disney.

Is it closed now? We will be there next week...that stinks if we can't see it. What is the preview?

it says it is closing 10/16 - 12/5

I was really looking forward to going there on my November trip…I guess I luckily still have a Jan. trip

Thanks.we will be there right before that so hopefully get to go.

I thought they already shipped out his desk that was on exhibit, back to his family museum.

The movie "One Man's Dream" is being preempted for a preview of The Good Dinosaur. From WDW Magic:

Starting October 16 2015, 'One Man's Dream' at Disney's Hollywood Studios will be showing preview scenes from the upcoming Disney-Pixar movie 'The Good Dinosaur.'

You can see the preview through December 4 2015, with the original 'One Man's Dream' movie returning on December 5 2015.

'The Good Dinosaur' opens in theaters on November 25 2015.

Is one mans dream closing or not?

I hope it's staying around!

The attraction is still open the only thing changing will be the movie at the end, you can always chose to skip it or not.
There are rumors that the actual attraction will close in the future for TSLand but nothing has been confirmed
The original Walt movie will be back December 5th

Deleted original post I made here - found the answer :(

Looks like we won't see the One Man's Dream movie at the end. As we've never done the exhibit and it will be our only chance this November I'm really disappointed. The last thing they should be doing to an exhibit rumoured to be permanently closing is messing with it while people are trying to get a chance to see it either their first time, or one last time :(

I remember they had a preview for Narnia there in 2005/6...I'm guessing that would be for the first one. It was bigger than what you could find online to watch (i.e. far more than simply a trailer). However, it wasn't anything that I would ever recommend going to unless you were a hardcore fan. I could see it for Star Wars because people would actually knock down the doors to get in. But I feel that there are enough promos that we don't need to waste time on it in the parks.

The desk was still there last weekend. We were excited to see it and that the whole thing was still open. DD, 9, has been totally into the history of Walt Disney for the past year and I think she could have spent all day in there and not ridden a ride and been happy. We spent a long time there. She loved the movie along with everything else. They told us they don't know for certain, but expect the permanent close to probably be in February.

His small desk is there but there was a larger room showing his entire office, that has been shipped to the museum in CA

Well at least they are bringing it back. I really love that museum and the movie. I will check it out on Saturday and then take my daughter to see The Good Dinosaur when we are back in early December. I loved the room that showed the replica of his office. I'm a little sad that is gone. I love seeing stuff from The Mickey Mouse Club, though, so as long as that stuff is still there, I will be happy.

Thank you, you just confirmed what I was thinking. I was assuming that the artifacts that make up One Man's Dream will still be there (minus his desk of course), it is just the movie that will be different for the time being. I wonder if there is a way to skip out on the movie if you don't want to watch it.

OP, I agree with you completely....One Man's Dream is not the place to put the preview in. Don't get me wrong, I am all for movie previews, just don't put it in there. I guess this is a step towards a permanent closure of the attraction :sad2:.

I love 'One Man's Dream' and was so disappointed when I saw this a couple of days ago. I will be there after 12/5, but I suspect the film won't be changed out that quickly [hopefully, I am wrong]. I just find the whole thing so odd. They didn't do this for some of their other blockbusters and if it is so important to preview, do it over at Epcot and preempt the Captain EO attraction. :sad1: I definitely agree with PoohsFan1 that this is the beginning of the end . . . at least for now.

First off, it's likely closing for good when they build Star Wars land and Toy Story land.

Secondly... This whole "they want to forget the great Walt Disney" is just silly nonsense.
Walt Disney was no Saint, and the current corporate behavior is actually pretty consistent with his own leadership. He was all about expanding the brand, maximizing profits.
If anything, Disney goes out of their way to sugarcoat the real Walt Disney and tries to elevate him into a hero, see the Tom Hanks as Walt Disney movie.

It's a history lesson about how the parks came about and where Mickey mouse came from and it should stay move it if need be but it should stay. Has nothing to do with what kind of a person he was or his level of greed its a monument, and god forbid someone may actually learn something.
