I thought I had it bad, both daughters need braces next year.

Yeah they cost a little extra, but I begged my mom and she said yes.

I have metal on the bottom, because I have a slight overbite...

And they said wearing the clear ceramic ones would rub off the enamel on my teeth there...

So I said...forget that! I can deal with metal just on the bottom!

And to have three of them...wow my mom complains with just me wearing braces

Funny, I always wanted braces when I was a teen. And what I got was a retainer instead. Ugh, I hated the thing. I slurred my speech and when I talked it was like a spring shower.

LOL Kevin! I wanted braces, well actually a perfect smile using Invisaline, but now I have them...

And I hate them! Figures...

Back then they only had those train track type of braces. No invisible ones.

I hated my retainer. I just remember friends be repulsed when I took out my retainer to eat lunch. UGH...

And I had to carry a small case for it, that totally resembled a birthl control case. Certainly not something you wanna do when you're a 16 yo guy. LOL!!!

Mine was blue too!!! And it had a daisy design on it. can you believe that? Shessh, I don't know how I kept that thing for so many years.


I eventually just put the retainer in my pocket and washed it in the sink after lunch. No wonder I stopped wearing it after two years.
