One hour Office is too much!

Are any other fans of "The Office" unimpressed with the 60 minute episodes?
The season opener was just dull to me, and the one last week was pretty good for the first half, but in the second 30 minutes, I didn't laugh once. I'm wondering if anyone else thought the same thing?:happytv:

I do think the hour is 30 minutes too long. Last week's episode was pretty good though. That was the first this season that I totally enjoyed, but still yeah there was stuff that wasn't needed.

And I want to punch Ryan.

Last week was my favorite episode of the season so far. This week sounds good -- Jim and Pam go to Dwight's farm turned B&B.

I agree. I don't know if it has anything to do with length though. I just didn't think the content of the first couple of shows was very good.

I stated this on the Office thread, but I agree. The appeal of the show is, to me, the quickness of the funnies. It's just one laugh after another, with no lulls in between. It's so quick, it's often necessary to watch the episodes over and over again because so much gets missed. This is what makes it so different from anything else on TV.

I believe after this week they go back to a half hour, but don't quote me.

I have to be the dissenting voice. I liked it as an hour.

I agree, Michie. I was really looking forward to these hour episodes because I used to think the half hour wasn't enough! Now I'm glad they're going back to the half hour format.

I think they did a few last year that were 40 - 45 min. (along with Earl or 30 Rock). IMO, the perfect length.

I agree the hour version had great moments, but also some filler.

I'm another dissenter who likes the full hour. The last episode was a little dull IMHO, but they've definitely got enough interesting characters to easily fill an hour with the rapid-fire hilarity. I think they need to move on from the Dwight/Angela thing, though; they've beat that dead cat long enough.

I'm enjoying the hour episodes, although I'm okay with them going back to the half hour format soon. The season opener was good, the second episode was so-so, but I thought last week's episode was hilarious.:rotfl2:

Phyllis trying to be reasonable with Angela, then throwing the crumpled-up paper in her face.:lmao:

Andy singing to Angela, Michael and Dwight mocking Ryan (Michael with the "I'm hot" line:lmao: ), and Dwight's line about "sometimes computers and robots come alive...":rotfl: :rotfl2:

Though The Office is still my favorite show, by far, I agree that the 60 minute shows are too long. I wouldn't mind if they threw 2 or 3 in a season but every week is killing me. I have a hard time staying awake...it is too close to bedtime;)

I used to think the 1/2 hour was too short, there was too much good stuff they left out if you look at the DVD's extras. So I was happy for the longer ones last year & the 1 hour this season. But I do think, except for the opener which was hilarious, the other 3 weren't quite up to par but I'll still take the hour episodes.

Michael still has that crush on Ryan.
