one for all or all for one?

Talking about autograph books here! I have 3 kids--just wondering if I should get them all their own autograph books or get them to share one. I'm the official "stuff lugger" and am not real thrilled with having to cart 3 autograph books around. Does anyone with kids have them share autograph books?

:confused3

I purchase an autograph book for each of the two children. The books really aren't big (about the size of a large snapshot) and don't weigh much at all. Our backpack has a medium sized zippered pouch and it is the designated autograph book and pen section. Nothing else goes in there so it's easy to pull them out when we meet a character.

We have one autograph book that the two kids share. What I do is have the character autograph a page, and on the facing page I later place a picture of the two kids with the character.

I would get them each one otherwise it would feel like to me as a kid that it really wasn't mine it was more Mom's. Who eventually gets to keep it? who's room does it stay in? etc. What I would do is if over the age of 5 they would be carrying it themselves! Get them fanny packs and if they want a book they carry or else they don't get autographs. That's what we did and my DD wanted them so she carried it , but it wasn't important enough to my son to carry one so he didn't get one. Same thing with drinks, snacks, etc.

I solved this problem by asking them what they wanted. My DD4 wants one for sure, but my DS10 wasn't interested. My DS7 only wants one if Star Wars characters sign. If they change their minds they can each have one of their own. I think it depends on the age and personalities of your kids. For example DS and DD can't share because DS would go insane if a Princess sighned his book seeing as how all things girly are gross to him. If you have two girls or two boys close in age and they both like the same characters then I say try sharing and see if it works. Worse case you spend an entire day tracking down everyone who sighned the first childs book to sign the second childs book...LOL

I made autograph books for each of my 3 kids...the characters in the books are tailored to favorites of each child, so they are customized. One has all classic characters, one has no girls, and one has all girls.

I solved this problem by telling our two kids if they wanted one then they had to use their own vacation money and buy one. My DS decided he wanted one, while my DD decided she wanted to spend her money on something else. The one my DS picked out was a photo and autograph book.

We all took turns carrying the bag so it wasn't to much of a pain...
