the 18-125 doesn't have macro (if i am right) my 100-300 has 1:4 macro, my sigma 28-80 has 1:2 macro ( which i need to upgradefor $10 plus shipping) so since i basically will only use the 28-80 for macro, is the 28-80 even worth the upgrade to use it just for macro..basically i'd use it for flowers or something since the zoom isn't really enough for anything much else but isn't the closer to 1:1 ratio better ( 1:2 vs 1:4)?

I think your decision is grounded more on footing that adresses whether you'll use the macro gains. If I'm correct this is just a $10 decision - so just get it. You may not know if you'll even use it but it seems there's no harm in having it? Having a 1:2 seems better than being limited to a 1:4. No other factors condisered.
