Yay! My history paper on Communism is now finished! Now I have only my papers for American Studies and Theatre History left. For American Studies (the 50s class), I'd like to write about something Disney related like Disneyland or the old Disneyland tv show, but I'm already known in the class as the Disney expert.....lol. We had a class where we talked about Disney in 50s. He asked the class how many of us owned a Disney film, and it was almost unanimos, but as he asked how many had more than 5, 10, 15, eventually I was the last one left. lol. We watched a clip from the Disneyland dvd set. When Tinkerbell came on the screen, he proceeded to tell us that she was modeled after Marilyn Monroe! (She wasn't!) I started shaking my head and informed him that Marilyn was too young at the time they designed the Peter Pan characters. Then, we were talking about how Walt Disney fought the Cold War by emphasizing everything American and family values in his park and in animation, someone asked about It's a Small World, and the teacher admitted he didn't know if that was there when the park opened. I said, no, it was added in the 60s. lol. I felt like such a show-off! After class, one of my classmates came up to me and said, "I've gotta know- how do you know so much about Disney??"
Anyway, it's the last stretch of the semester! I hope I survive! Then just one more semester and it's bye bye school, hello Orlando. WDWCP recuiters come on Thursday- free dinner for alumni- yahoo!
