Hi everyone,

I am a Disneyland Annual Passholder and will be in the Central Florida area for a few days. I am planning to go to Disney World for one day from rope drop until about 4 pm.

I would like to go to Epcot's World Showcase about noon...so my question is; what park should I visit in the morning? Should I do Magic Kingdom which is similar to my home park of Disneyland or should I go to the Animal Kingdom.

Please take into account that I probably won't do any attractions as I just want to walk about, soak up the atmosphere and have a nice lunch in the World Showcase.

Your suggestions are most welcome! Thank you in advance, Dee Dee

If you aren't going to do any of the rides and just want to soak up some atmosphere, I'd actually recommend Animal Kingdom over Magic Kingdom. Especially if you will only be there for the morning. Magic Kingdom has great ambiance, but it is pretty similar to that of Disneyland. Animal Kingdom is like nothing at Disneyland or DCA and has some pretty fun things to check out (street musicians etc.). Enjoy!

I would do MK, but I would do 3 FP attractions. With FP it wouldn't take much of your time, but you need to compare some landmark rides. So: POTC, Splash and 7DMT.

It's fun to see how much the 2 parks differ.

Jenna, that was my thinking exactly, but as mom2rtk says...it is fun to compare MK to DL. I am so torn, wish I could do 3 parks in one day!

I should have added that I have been to WDW twice before. But I have not been on the 7DMT....thank you for the suggestion

Why can't you? Magic Kingdom is usually open pretty late. Why not do morning at AK head to World Showcase for lunch and early afternoon, and then finish your day with Wishes and Magic Kingdom. You can even get fast passes for later in the evening so you can do 7DMT, if you want.

I love AK especially in the morning. You have to experience the kilimanjaro safari which makes you feel like you are in the heart of Africa on a real safari adventure. AK feels like you stepped onto another continent without having to travel all those miles. AK is a smaller park which is easier to navigate in a short time. It has amazing trails and amazing shows like the Lion King and flights of wonder. You cannot experience that at Disneyland. I would do that and then head to Epcot.

Thank you for your replies. I think I will do AK then go over to Epcot. Sounds like the perfect day!

Great advice here for AK. I would check who has EMH that day. If AK has early A.M. EMH, then I would do that and then head over to EPCOT for some chow. Finishing up at MK that evening would be really cool....IMO. Yes, you'll be a little tired probably and it is alot of walking and not cheap, but the experience......

Best of luck to you!

If you arrive at AK at rope drop you could easily do Expedition Everest (my favorite of Disney rides) the Safari, Festival of the Lion King and walk the trails to see the gorillas and tigers. You could easily finish that by noon. I know you said you probably wouldn't do attractions but it would be a shame to miss EE and the Safari and it really wouldn't take much time. You would still have plenty of time to "explore". Don't miss the gibbons... they are such fun to watch when they are out.
