We are taking a quick trip to Orlando in October and plan to go to Universal on October 13. We have been once, so are somewhat familiar with the parks. We'd like to do US/IOA in one day. We know what we don't have to see this trip, but are wondering if we are being too ambitious with just one day. Any thoughts?

Even during a slow period trying to do everything in both parks isn't the best plan. Remember...the parks close earlier in October and since you're going on a day when Halloween Horror Nights is staged at the Studios, you will lose an hour since the park closes at 5pm. If you only want to do the headline attractions in both parks, you could do that easily but everything...it's not recommended. I would head to the Studios first...do what you want and then head over to IOA in the afternoon. The Studios will start to fill up with the people staying for HHN in the late afternoon so it's best to avoid the crowds if you aren't going to stay for HHN.
