On our visit in November, we intend to visit two of the Disney parks only. Therefore we will only need to get one day passes for each park. However on my last vist in 1996 we were able to buy the one day park tickets in advance from the hotel Guest services desk. Is this still possible or do we have to actually pay on the gate?. I would much rather have the ticket in advance to avoid any queues at the gate. Thanks!

I checked on the ticketmania website and it says:

*** One Day, One Park tickets to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and MGM Studios , are not available for advance purchase, they must be purchased at the park the day you are going. Gate Price tax included is Adults ages 10 and up $53.00, and Kids Ages 3 - 9 $42.40.***

Not sure if this is gospel though.

You can also get 2 day, 1 park per day tickets ($105.43) and 3 day, 1 park per day tickets ($155.49) - you cannot park hop with these tickets.

Are you sure your only doing 2 WDW parks - which parks are you planning to miss?

Single day tickets work our expensive and don't give you the flexibility of park hoping. Hopping would enable you to spend the morning in one park, then hop over to another park in the afternoon to catch the eveing shows (Fantasmic, Illuminations, FITS & Spectromagic etc.)

Single day tickets can be purchased via the onsite hotels or Downtown disney. These can be bought in advance.I recently enquired for a friend of mine, who did exactly what you wanted to do,Im not 100% sure of the downtown disney location, but im sure it was at the guest services area,or one of the shops.

Thanks for the swift reply. I actually saw that statement on the ticketmania web site which is what prompted me to post the question.I know for certain that we pre purchased the one day tickets one day in advance from the Guest Services counter at Holiday Inn Maingate west.

As for why only two parks. Well nothing really interests me at Animal Kingdom. And as for MGM, my partner won't ride Roller Coasters and simulators. Which leaves not many rides to do. I would do the RR Coaster, Star Tours, TOT etc but now I hear rumours even these may be closed for rehab. Not much point to it really. Also we are getting the 4 park Flex ticket for US, SW, IOA and W&W. So we don't want to do too many parks. need some time for other attractions : Airboat Ride, Dinner Cruise, Skull Kingdom, Splendid China, Beach Trip etc.

Thanks again though for the reply

Disney's own on-line ticket sales say the One Day passes can be bought at the parks or resorts.

You need to select the Reside in US option to see that info.
