One day or two for Universal/Island of Adventures????

We will be in Orlando for 4 days for Disney and are considering 2 days at Universal. We have never been to the Universal parks and have 2 daughters, 7 and 11. For first timers, what you recommend??? We can work in 2 days but if we don't need it, we could save on the tickets.

ANY and ALL advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!
