I'm planning a one day trip (probably 10/2) to SW and want to see all of the shows. Is this possible in one day? Are they scheduled far enough apart or well enough that one can do them all in the same day. I don't think I'll have time for rides, but the shows, that's another story.
I plan on getting there for rope drop and leaving when the park closes or I've "done it all" whichever comes first.
Am I over doing it for one day?

Thanks,

If you check here: http://4adventure.com/SWF/dp_show_schedule.aspx you can see what a typical show schedule looks like. Your dates are not available yet, so put in a closer date.

Are you visiting alone? If you have kids, I would definitely say you need two days. If not, you will be able to see most of the shows in one day if you plan it out. Be aware, just because the park opens at 9 a.m., not all attractions do. In fact, during our visit two weeks ago, the first show did not start until 10:00, although some of the other attractions (ex. manate rescue, etc.) were open at 9 a.m. Also, if you do the Penguin Encounter early, it may still be "nighttime" for the penguins. I believe they create "sunrise" for them at 10 or 10:30 a.m.

The other advantage to doing two days is that most tickets are valid for the 2nd day free - you need to have your ticket validated before leaving the first day. (Someone told me that the military salute tickets do not qualify for the 2nd day offer.)

I have extra maps left over. If you would like one, please PM me your address. The show times, etc. will not be accurate for your date since they print a new map/schedule for each day, but at least you could get an idea of the layout of the park.

You can probably do it in one day. The earliest shows at 10am, so you have a while before the rope drop - during which time I'd do rides (Atlantis, Kraken or Wild Arctic - you could do both Kraken and Atlantis before 9.30am).

If you're more into the animal shows (which are more popular), I'd hit the earliest Clyde and Seamore (sealion) show at 10am, head over to Believe (Shamu) for the 11.30am-ish showing, grab some lunch, visit some smaller attractions (penguins, manatees, sharks, dolphin cove, etc.) see Pets Ahoy at 1.30pmish (it's airconditioned! yay!), then head to Blue Horizons at 3.30ish. That's all the BIG daytime shows done, you could fit anything else around that. In the evening, you should be able to make both the Sealions Tonite show at 7.30pm and the night Shamu show at 9.30pm if they are both on.

Yes, it's possible, you just need to have a plan!!

Visiting alone, by myself, no one else going. :)
Thanks for the link!

My family of 4 visited SW on Father's Day. It was crowded, but we hit all of the main shows and all of the rides except Kraken. (By choice...) It was very hot and we left before the night shows. I was sorry to miss them, but we were totally exhausted, mostly from the heat. None of the shows began until 10:00, so we hit rides and stingray, dolphin encounters first. We also did the sharks and penguins. The penguins are in their winter mode now and sunrise is not until after 11:00 or 12:00. It is dark in there!! You could see them swimming, but rock viewing was poor. I wouldn't go there until later in the day. Have fun and try to stay cool!

I normally bring a water bottle with me that slings over my sholder. I'm bad about filling it up and spraying myself down. I don't get hot that way. Plus it's fun on water rides, I shoot back at people. :)

Sounds like a great way to stay cool. I'll have to remember that for next time!:rolleyes1

They are available at Wal-Mart, K-Mart or any Sporting goods store. The bottle goes inside an somewhat insulated zippered wrapper that has the "sling" on it. I used it like crazy on my last trip. Every time I passed a water fountain, I'd fill it up. I never was over hot or got dehydrated. Plus, like I said, it's really fun on water rides. When people fire the water guns at me, I shoot back! :)
