Spent my birthday at MK on 8/21. Here is our story:

1. Got there 1/2 hr. before opening. DH struck up a conversation w/a CM standing by the turnstiles whom he saw give out fast passes to a family that were good on any ride any time. So by the end of his conversation, he got two for us! We planned to save them for Splash for the end of the evening but never needed to use them! They never expire so we'll save them!

2. Walked right in - DH was first in line to get a hair cut...I thought he was wasting precious ride time, but we had nothing to worry about.

3. 9:20 AM Walked right on Buzz, Space Mountain, and then Astro Orbiters....got to stay on AO and ride again because there was no line!!!

4. Could've walked onto Indy Speedway, but didn't. Went to Peter Pan...waited for about 5 min. about 9:45.

5. Could've walked right on Presidents, Haunted Mansion, but decided to wait for later. Walked right on BTMRR at about 10AM. Decided to save Splash for later. Walked right on Pirates...10:10 AM.

5 1/2. Had lunch at noon at CS across from Indy Speedway (name escapes me just now) and there weren't any lines and tons of places to sit. My rib/chicken combo was awesome. DH's burger was dry and gross and so was his sugar-free brownie. He didn't feel good all afternoon after that.

6. Watched a little of Spectro then walked right on BTMRR and then Splash while parade was finishing up. Adventureland was DEAD after Spectro....it was actually eerie!!! Still dark and hardly anyone around! And this was like 9:30!

7. Headed to in front of castle for fireworks....NO TINKERBELL on my b-day!!!!!!! Uggghhhhh!!!!

8. It really cleared out after the fireworks so we hung around the castle for a while, then hit a few gift shops, lingered on Main Street and headed to our bus stop at about 10:45 and the place was PACKED!!!!!! Only real crowds I saw all day! Didn't end up getting back to our resort until after 11:30.

We never waited for more than 5 min. at an attraction and never needed to use Fast Pass!!! And we left the park twice! Once at 2 to go back and clean up and change for a 5:20 ADR at CRT and then after dinner at about 6:45 to take my b-day cake back to the room and then returned about 8PM. Needless to say, we were TIRED at the end of the day!!!! But an excellent way to spend your birthday!

Sounds like you had a great time. Happy Birthday a few days late. I get to go to MK on my Birthday next year too. I'm so excited. I went in Summer of 2005 2 days after my Bithday, but not on my Birthday.

I'm really looking forward to a trip at MK. Plus, it will be our first day there during a two week trip. This year our first day at MK was the best.

Wow!! That's great!!! Happy belated bday!

I may request a lie detector test, this all seems too good to be true!! what a great birthday present-no lines at MK!!!

Happy belated B-day!

Happy Birthday :bday: We were in MK on 8/21 and had basically the same experience as you- everything we did was a walk on! We left right before the rain started as we were headed home :( All in all an excellent trip :thumbsup2 . Here's a picture I took in Fantasyland yesterday ( 8/21 ) at around 11:00 a.m. that shows how empty it was:

I am glad you had a happy birthday. We went a few days after my birthday, and ended up celebrating on 12/5. We had no idea until the CM at MGM guest relations told us that it was Walt's birthday also. It was pretty cool. There weren't many lines for me either.

I'll be at MK on my birthday October 14th! I hope I have the same experience as you, except with Tink of course! ;)

Wow, great pic! Thanks for sharing.

Forgot to ask, is this typical attendence for late August? It might be worth going in the roasting heat if you can walk on all the rides..
