Once you donate..... can you leave it at that? I'm getting rather obsessed with trying to do more and more and more, because it seems like it'll never be enough. Anyone else feel like this?

I've donated money, I've got clothes and blankets to send, I've put my spare bedroom up for victims..... then I saw something about the pets and thought...I should go get some dog food, too..... I could go on and on..... if I could leave my job and go personally I would.... kinda wondering if others feel this way...... how do you get over it..... anyone finding it hard?

Yes - very hard. I really fought the temptation to drive down there the last 3 days. But I know they wouldn't let me in & I would just get in the way. It's so frustrating to see the news and not be able to do anything to help.

There are so many kinds of help needed... financial donations, blood donations, volunteering your time and your spare bedroom.

Bless your heart for being so giving.

I'm sure this is one of the things that is fueling my anger, frustration and sense of helplessness..

I donated back on Tuesday - and then waited and waited for people to receive food and water and it didn't happen.. It didn't happen Wednesday.. It didn't happen Thursday.. For many people it still hasn't happened today..

I could send MORE money, but these people need help IMMEDIATELY - some within the next 60 seconds.. I live too far away to do anything else..

If there is some way that I can help from all the way up here in upstate NY, I wish someone would let me know what it is.. I don't know how much longer I deal with all of this suffering without losing my mind.. :(

I know what you mean...........

You're going to have someone come and stay with you? I was talking to DH about that and as much as we would like to, our home is rather small and we wouldn't feel comfortable leaving strangers alone in our home while we were at work. Sad that we live in such a world that this would be an issue. :confused3

We listed it on craigslist.com. Just trusting that we'd get good, honest people. Only have one extra bedroom, but it's better than nothing.
