My inquisitive 7yo just asked - why can’t we watch the characters on the castle (the projection show) from the beach if I bring my binoculars?

Never thought about this. I know the trees will obscure some, we never tried this last time we stayed there and I can’t find a good pic to see if the angle of the castle is right. Any thoughts?

There is just too much between you and the castle at the Polynesian. Islands, trees, monorail, train station, etc.

The castle may be too far from the beach for binoculars.
Excellent thinking though!
Give it a try and let us know.

We’re there in about 3 weeks. We’ve already seen the show up close, so really won’t be missing the experience. I figure I’ll let him give it a shot at least. I’ll report back. Based off this pic it looks like it would only be distance and trees.

We just got back from an awesome stay a few weeks ago. We only watched Happily Ever After at the MK once, but we watched it from the Poly half a dozen times. The beach offers a really good view. But we found the view even better on a small bluff over by the mid-section of the bungalows. If you walk from the exit of the Tokelau building toward the bungalows, there's a pathway that ends on a small hill with a couple of benches. I'd try watching for Once Upon a Time from there. It's very peaceful and private most nights and that extra elevation might give you a slightly better view of the castle. Just a thought.

Probably stating the obvious, but just remember there is no OUAT audio playing at Poly (unlike HEA). While you can see “something” is going on with the castle lighting/projection changes from what you can see at Poly, it is all but impossible to really see/appreciate the show in any meaningful way from there.

This is exactly the info we’re looking for, thank you!

Thanks for that, I’ll let him know. Having already seen it up close I’m hoping that it won’t bother him that there’s no sound. At this point I’m just curious to see how this all plays out lol
