Day 2 - Tuesday July 15th

Cast
DW - Helen - 25
DH - Me - 25

The phone rang at 0700hrs to let us know that it was time to clamber out of bed, and for me to almost knock myself out on the bunk beds as I tripped over DW's suitcase. After no swearing whatsoever ;) , I finally got dressed and waited for DW to sort herself out, then with autograph book and camera in tow, we made our way to Cafe Mickey's for the 1st of our character breakfasts.

Since the GMFL breakfast was no longer running, we made sure that Character breakfasts played a huge part in this holiday.

The food was lovely and I know that it is the same that we would have got at the Cheyenne, but it just seemed better for some reason. Maybe it was becasue shortly after we got there, I was assaulted by an upset Prince John

I didnt even realise he was there, and he slapped me with his robe around the back of my head. I thought that it was funny as hell, and after a few photo's (we had his autograph from yesterday), I looked round to see Mickey heading towards us with Pluto and Friar Tuck closely following.

At 0830hrs, they all left and then Minnie, Chip, Dale and Goofy came round to meet us. Chip and Dale tried to steal my food, but I wasnt having any of it. I protected my food and with DW laughing, she took a few photo's of us all.

By 0850hrs, I couldn't eat anymore, so we both decided to head off towards the Magic Kingdom.

I love EMH. There were only a few rides open, but we did manage to get on Buzz and Space Mountain (Twice). It was already really hot and it was great to finally be able to get some pictures of the Park with Blue sky in the background.

We went towards the Princess stage at park opening, due to that fact that we thought that the princesses still made an apperance here about 1015hrs. We were wrong and later foiund out that they would be there at 1315hrs. We did manage to meet Winnie the Pooh though, so it wasn't all bad. I got quite badly burnt sitting for half and hour at the Princess stage - but what the hell, I need a tan

We strolled over to Fantasyland in time to see Abu, Genie, Pinocchio, Geppetto and Pluto leaving. We took a few photo's (they wouldn't stop for autographs), and then went back to the top of main street to wait for the Character Express.

One character who we had never seen out in all the years that we had been there was the White Rabbit, so we were really pleased to see him aboard the express and made sure that we got his photo and autograph along with Geppetto.

Due to the heightening crowds, we decided to go over to the Studio's and check out the ToT and Stitch Live.

Fastpass for ToT was first on the menu, and we worked out that we had time to ride RnR coaster and go and see Stitch Live before having to get back to 'Hollywood'.

Stitch was fantastic and I would recommend this to anyone. RnR coaster is a favourite of ours anyway, so we loved that and then with adrenline pumping we entered the Hollywood Tower Hotel.

I had no idea what to expect with this and its fair to say that this is the only ride I have been on where I have seriously contemplated not actually riding.

I thought to hell with it, im here, lets do it!

The theming is perfect, the special effects are amazing and the ride is completley unexpected. I knew it was a drop ride, but I thought it was a case of going to the top, sitting in a car and dropping. How wrong I was.

The 'airtime' was phenomenol at the top of the Tower and I dont think I have ever come off of a ride shaking so much. I loved it and it was to be the first of many times on that ride.

After lunch (no point eating before ToT), we went back to the Magic Kingdom (Crush was a 2hr wait - no thanks ;) )

Tarzan's show was a priority and we went to see that. As ever it was a fantastic show and we enjoyed every minute of it. BTM was advertising queue times of over an hour so we headed to POTC stopping for photo's inside Skull Rock on the way.

The Character Express was stopping at main street again shortly after that, so we went to see what other autographs we could could get. Donald Duck was the only one we managed to get, so we then headed off to the Disneyland Hotel.

After reading some advice on here, we made it to the Disneyland Hotel Lobby at 1600hrs and met a few more characters. Captain Hook tried to check in, but was told that they didnt accept pirates into their hotel

We met Max (Goofy's son, who I have always wanted to meet), Mr Smee and of course Captain Hook himself. We also met Launchpad McDuck who I have never seen before so that was good to be able to get his autograph as well.

We made a point of wathing the Once Upon a Dream parade at 1915hrs which was amazing as always. I couldn't believe the amount of characters that were wandering around in front of the floats. Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh was there and he is one that I didn't even realise exsisted. I got a great photo of him looking a bit down in the dumps :)

The parade was brilliant and after eating at Casey's, we went to LPDCDF which is always a good ride and we also made it onto Casey Jr before they closed fantasyland.

We took our places for the Fantillusion parade which was every bit as good as I had expected and then rode Buzz and Space Mountain again, before making sure that we were in place for the Fireworks.

They were stunning (its great when money is no object :lmao: )
We loved them and then we headed out of the park with the thousands of other people doing exactly the same thing :)

We got back to the Cheyenne about 2345hrs that night, shattered, but very happy with how the day had gone.

We arranged to go to the hotel restaurant for breakfast the following morning so we set a wake up call for 0830hrs and nodded off into dreamland reasy for the following days adventures.

Sounds like a fun day, any pictures to share?

Great 2nd day, its great to hear of new characters being added to the park. I hope they make a appearence when i go in September.

As far as the pictures go, I will add them into a separate thread once the Trip Report is complete. I hope that this is ok. I just find it easier to do that. They should all be up on here by wednesday at the latest :)

Who is Launchpad McDuck????

Great report, again :goodvibes .

Elaine

Launchpad McDuck is a distant cousin of Donald. He is most recognisable by his flying goggles, leather jacket and trousers and his scarf. I will add a photo of him in my photo thread later in the week.

I had to google him, to find out his actual name as he signed in French and we couldnt remember his name

Great report. You did well to meet all these unusual characters :thumbsup2

Looking forward to the pics.

Sounds like a lovely day, look forward to the seeing your photos. :)

It's Launchpad McQuack, I read about his recent appearances over on Disney Central Plaza and had to do a search because I had no idea who he was, seems to be a strange choice of character although apparently he used to be at the park many years ago, so maybe it's all part of the 15th Anniversary thing.

Wow what a fantastic day!! All those amazing and rare characters! The breakfast sounded great fun too. Can't wait to see pics.

What a great day. :goodvibes

We met Launchpad McQuack on our first trip in summer 2005 only I didn't know who he was at the time!

We were there the week after you and had a GMFL breakfast.... were you told they were no longer running?
Good trip report so far btw.

We had a lazier morning than you but also saw Fantillusion (my favourite parade) followed by Enchanted fireworks.

Great to compare notes :)
