what can I put in it? Coffee? Tea? Soft drinks? milk? juice? Do they only allow certain beverages?

Please advise! Thanks!

At the beverage stations, there were coffee, tea, soft drinks, and hot chocolate. Pop Century also has a frozen coke machine. To my best reccollection, there was no milk or juice to fill your mug with.

This topic only applies to guests who have accomodations on Disney, correct?

They have skim milk by the coffee station for the coffee. So, technically, you can fill your mug with milk meant for coffee....

Where can the mugs be refilled? Only at resorts? At theme parks?:drinking1 Thanks!! This is an awesome board.

The mugs can only be filled at the resort that it was bought at.

The mugs are actually great for coffee. My cousin still uses hers and it's been a year since she was at Disney. So They are fine for hot beverages.
I was however wondering(I'm sure I already know the answer but.....) I can't use the same mug at two resorts huh? We are staying at the AKL and then the YC.

We got the refillable mugs at the Contemporary and at Wilderness Lodge. If we like the refillable program, we should not abuse it by cheating (even though soda is such a huge profit item). Use the mug during your stay at the resort it "belongs" to. I used my Wilderness Lodge mug for coffee this morning and remarked to DH that I was glad I chose the "commuter" style (fits in the car cupholder) instead of the slightly larger style because not only did I get all I needed to drink during our stay, but now I have a nice souvenier.

On last visit, the frozen cokes were specifically NOT included in the refill program, but hot beverages and fountain drinks were part of the plan. It's a pretty good deal if you're staying at one resort for several days. But don't just stroll up to any fountain drink station and fill up any old cup -- no one likes a conflict at the "happiest place on earth," and character is who you are when no one else is looking, right?

Have fun and stay hydrated!

Ok that was what I was wondering. I didn't know if we had to buy different ones when we got to our next resort. Thanks:)

Keep in mind that you can use the mugs in the parks for leftovers. We used them a lot in AK because of the no lid rule (and also in the zoo here at home!). When we were done with lunch or snacks we put the leftover pop in our mugs and put the mugs in the bottom of the stroller without worrying about spilling.

We also filled up at the food court before we left the hotel so we didn't need to buy beverages during the morning. It might be a pain to lug them around the parks if you don't have a stroller, but for folks with little ones, it's very handy to have them around.

I had been wondering if they'd just let you in the parks carrying one. Glad to know you can. :) I'm much more likely to buy one now.

We returned from WDW on 7/26 and thank all of you who answered about what could be put into the mugs. Thankfully, there was hot cocoa for DS, who drank it every morning w/breakfast.

We were very pleased to see (at least as All Star Sports) that there was also Powerade to drink. W/the temps being so high, it was good to have that to drink to suppliment the lost electrolytes.

Boy, good thing DS doesn't know about the frozen Coke at Pop Century -- he'd have killed us for not staying there (although he picked AS-Sp) as that's his beverage of choice nowadays!

We saw people from ASMu and ASMo using their mugs at our resort -- seems to be ok to do at the All Stars.

Anyway, the mugs were well worth the price! We were thrilled w/them. They really kept the hot beverages hot and the cold beverages cold!

I think they are well worth the money. As stated by others you can't fill with milk or juice but they're great for coffee and pop. I carry mine to work when I get home because it helps to have a little bit of Disney around every day.:sunny:

The best tip that I've read about refillable mugs is to bring dish detergent to wash them in your room. They do get really gross!! I filled a travel sized shampoo bottle with Dawn (marked it so I didn't confuse myself) and I was able to wash out the mugs in my room. Otherwise you are just using water at the beverage stations.eeewwwww!

They sell dish detergent "wipes"...works great. Also they pack better, just put several in a ziploc baggie. No mess or concerns with leaks/spills.
