Once and For All: Turndown Service is Gone?

I really wanted turndown service and was told either full cleaning every day or trash/towels. No in-between. I would think anything would be accepted if we were willing to pay a la carte but alas I was turned down. I wanted more than just clean towels and empty trash cans everyday but don't feel we need a thorough cleaning every day, either.
