Once again, I have park maps + park report

Anyone that would like park maps: I replenished my supply today. Simply email me with your request and preferred mailing address. Domestic preferred but occasionally I’ll make exceptions.

Crowds were relatively light this morning. As the day warmed up, so did the crowds. By noon it was pretty busy. I left at around 2:00.

I did OK on Buzz. My first four games scored in the 1.5M range. When I finally got a good score 1,997,300 - my pic didn’t come through. On my next ride I broke 2M. Pic also didn’t come through. That happened a lot today.

Met several cool people today. A few cast members helped me out with some small requests, which is always nice.

Update with some pics from today, July 4. Crowds were decent in the morning. A few CMs I spoke with told me that they expected it to get busy around 5:00. I rope-dropped Indiana Jones and then went to POTC and HM. A security CM I know told me that they had four medical/paramedic events by 9:30 in the morning, which was well above their average. He’s also told me in the past that when it gets hot, the heat gets to people and often they’ll pass out, etc. But it wasn’t particularly hot today. Or at least not in the morning.

The less said about Buzz today the better. In short, five times I got a cruiser with a gun that didn’t work or it worked at first and then began to fail at some point during the ride. The high score was only 1,790,000. I was exceptionally annoyed because twice I was on track to beat it and the final triangle didn’t work, thereby robbing me of my victory. Sometimes it feels like the ride intentionally messes with me.

Rob,
I always appreciate your park reviews and pictures.
Being along time AP holder before Covid and going 3-4 times a year, I have only been once since the parks re-opened.
But I will be going down for my 50th wedding anniversary in November.

I chuckle when I think of the scoring monitor on Buzz.
Here’s a story about Buzz I have told a couple of times on the DisBoard.

I began taking my oldest DGD & DGS when they were 5 and 8. We live in the PNW and would trip down one or two times a year. For years when the kids were little, when we would get on Buzz I would distract them and change out the guns. So the gun I was shooting was racking up a score on their side of the car. My DGD was always so proud to have a higher score than Geemo!

About 10 years ago, when she was about 15 or 16 we were on a family trip to DLR (now with 4-grandkids and my new daughter-in-law) I was telling my DIL how I use to switch out the guns on Buzz. My DGD heard the conversation and made a sigh-gasping noise. I asked her what was wrong and she said she never knew that! She just thought I was a bad shot.

Now when she rides buzz with me she checks the cord to the guns.

Incidentally, the tall hedges placed around the park - in the pic above at Jolly Holiday - were out in place to prevent crowds from forming in congested areas during the fireworks. Or at least that’s how it was explained to me.

Thanks for the report. We were there yesterday (7/4) too. Crowds were great in the morning for us and we hardly waited for anything. We did leave about 2:30 and it was definitely starting to pick up and was only going to get more crowded.
