Once A Thread Falls Off, Where Does It Go?

Just a quick question as I am relatively new to this board and I would love to dig into the archives for ideas (if they exist) so...once a thread falls off the 7-8 pages I typically see, where does it go? How can I look back?

Go all the way down to the bottom of the thread page to display options. You'll find the pop up list that will let you search for last month to the beginning.
