Once a category sells out, does it ever become available again?

We were looking at the 6/26 Alaska sailing in an inside stateroom. Yesterday it was available, today it's sold out. All that's left is veranda and it's way too much $$. Is there a chance at this late date that inside rooms could open up again or are we out of luck?

yea it could if someone cancels. Our upcoming had Concierge rooms reopen a few times. Seeing as its after the PIF its probably unlikely though.

It can become available if there are cancellations but since this cruise is past the Paid In Full date it is highly unlikely that you will see many cancellations.

Likely depends on the sailing... but I've been watching our cruise frequently since we booked it at 4 months out. We've had several categories sell out and then come back. In fact, we leave next week and within the last week the sold out oceanview category suddenly had an opening. Inside had been sold out too and there was an opening a few weeks back (but it has since gone).

There do seem to be several balcony cabins available on our sailing still... what I wonder is if DCL ever upgrades an already assigned GTY (or other) room to fill those to open up a cheaper cabin in hopes of selling it. Or if those unsold cabins juts become opportunities for upgrades at the port.
