If booking with a travel agent and receiving onboard credits, what are those credits good for?
Can they be used toward paying the tips? Or merchandise from the ship gift shop?

Can they be used toward paying the tips? Or merchandise from the ship gift shop?

Onboard credit is a positive amount (credit) added to your onboard account. All charges onboard are charged to your onboard account. So, except for Disney VISA OBC, anything you charge to your onboard account will come off the OBC first, before being charge to whatever payment method you are using to back up your account.

These would include excursions, gift shop purchases, photo purchases, alcoholic beverages, gratuities.
