Onboard Booking Question

Is it possible to have someone who is already sailing (like a family member/someone REALLY trusted) book a future cruise for you? I know some other cruise lines allow this but not sure if DCL does.

I know that at least one person on the booking must stay on it or it's considered a new booking (and you lose the discounts and OBC).

Has anyone tried doing this? Is it possible?

We have booked for my parents before (without booking for ourselves). But I have heard people here say they couldn't book for people who weren't sailing. So I don't know if it varies by the booking agent onboard or if the rules keep changing. I just know we were able to do it.

But, are you going to be doing the future sailing with the people who would be booking for you? I ask because the rule is that you can only book one future cruise date per household. So if the people sailing want to book a future cruise, they can get onboard booking benefits on a second cabin for you if you're sailing on the same date. But if you are not sailing with them, they can either book a cruise for themselves and get the benefits or one for your family with the benefits but not both.

I thought that I had heard of someone being able to book a back to back while on board????

You can book a back to back, but if a person is sailing on one cruise and booking on board they will only get the OBB benefits on ONE of the B2B cruises (presumably choosing the most expensive).

One cruise = one placeholder or actual booking for one future cruise [which may be upto two staterooms on that same future cruise].

Yes, back to back cruises used to be the exception to the only one cruise date rule. But they have done away with that exception a year or more ago. If you book back to back while on board now, you only get the onboard benefits on one of the cruises.
