The least favorite ride thread made me think that many of everyone's least favorites could be made much better by just a little tweeking.

For example -- Sounds Dangerous. If they just showed enough on the screen while in the darl to make it interesting.... Even feet walking down a sidewalk -- something to make guest's imagination or curiousity work.

Star Wars -- mmmm.... New picture and sound, at least. Not sure why they put it in as it was behind it's prime even new.

Journey/Imagination. I never saw the original and even I can tell this is a watered down version. Almost reminds me of what I heard about Superstar Limo at DCA.
That rides need a lot more OOmmph in every way. It even looks empty. But a little here, a little there, and it would be much better.

Stitch: Needed to stay with the true 626 theme, and needs more happening, period.

My Least Fav. is Small World and a nice Florida sink hole would do the trick.

Bill, Bill, Bill!!! IASW is the BEST! Just think of the song- don't you want to go and hear it in your head for the next week or so? Classic!! :cloud9:

OMG - So many thoughts....

Indy Jones Stunt: With the arrival of the far-superior Motors Stunt show, rip out Indy (There's not room enough in one park for two stunt shows, IMHO), and replace with the awesome Indy ride from California

Star Tours: LOVE Star Wars, but they really need to replace the film. Better yet, have three seperate films (one film is Endor, another is Tatooine, and a third is Hoth) and have you exit in generic "spaceport" store. This way, every ride is different!

20K Lagoon (err..."parking lot"): Replace with Japan's "Journey to the Center of the Earth" ride (maybe Atlantis themed?) That way, it fits in the odd place of Fantasy and Science - Sci-Fi/Fantasy!

Spaceship Earth: I LOVE this ride, but, Lord, please give it more comfy seats!!! PLEASE!

Living Seas: While I love the Nemo-fication of this pavilion, I always thought it would benefit by really embracing its inner "Sea Base Alpha". I would love to see Streetmosphere-type actors and divers creating a real-life sea base simulation. Sort of a Sealab 2010, but without the insanity :) (that's for the Cartoon Network Adult Swim fans out there!)

Wonders of Life: With America's obesity problems, this is a place that should really be revamped! Donald or Goofy-fication would be nice, with more focus on eatting right, getting fit, getting active and just overall health!

OK, I guess that's it, but trust me, there's always more. Just waiting for the call from Disney now. :earboy2:

Space Mountain: Give me seat backs that support your head and neck. Being tall on this ride is a big disadvantage with the way the seats are but if they just had a higher back it would be much better.

Sink hole for Its a Small World...the song never leaves my head. And DH convinently has to go to the restroom every time DD wants to go....and I always get the "No, don't wait, go on with out me."

Some of the rides need serious updates....but overall I think I like most of them!

Tom Sawyers Island needs more excitement somehow, possibly live actors being Huck and such.

Swiss Family Treehouse, again with live actors or a storyline to follow thats something a bit more exciting.

D.D.

Our least favorite ride we'd love to see improved would be the Safari at AK.

When we went in 2000, I couldn't ride since I was 7 months pregnant. So our Nov. trip we were really looking forward to seeing the Safari. Well, we saw some real up close and personal animals, but does the ride really have to be THAT bumpy?? My DH made the comment that the warning signs didn't include anything about a cup :earseek: if you get my drift... and out of about 40 photos around 8 turned out... Why torture the guest? The animals are fantastic to see...the script that goes along with the bone jarring ride is boring. Drop the boring monologue, give us some nice details on the animals, and a little smoother ride...a little bumpy is ok, but sheesh...

Catastrophe Canyon in MGM. While the 20 seconds of water gushing and the tanker exploding are cool, they really need to do something with the rest, especially the rest of the tram ride. We were all getting bored. I remember going through actual movie/tv sets and it just being more interesting overall. And the NY street scene where they drop you off it just dumb. Although, I did see a sign showing a new ride coming soon, so maybe that will spice things up.

IASM into a sink hole? It's a classic!! Sorry it was closed for renovation

Rio de Tiempo needs some updating badly.

Imagination with Figment is a bust, was much better before the change. Pretty lame now.

The living seas needs some actual LIVING SEAS in its aquarium. Used to be filled with all sorts of interesting fish. Now the kids don't even show an interest , don't blame them, neither do I. Turtle Talk was the only redeaming feauture, and I would like to see more of the Nemo theme, the kids really like that and it is Disney after all.

Some are necessarily my least favorite, but still have room for improvement.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom (no seriously;))
Longer drop.

Swiss Family Robinson Tree House: new theming, maybe Tarzan... Whose kids know anything about Swiss Family Robinson, anyway... Also, could they install esculators for those of us who have bad knees?

Country Bear Jamboree: new show

Snow White: scarier, like the original when the witch jumps out at you.

The space formally known as 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: new e ticket ride... a coaster would be a GREAT addition!

TTA: faster

Astro Orbiter: larger rocket ships, faster loading

Spaceship Earth: gut it and put in a thrill ride... PLEASE!!!!!

Body Wars/Cranium Command, The Making of Me: open them--- they are very revelent!!!

Living Seas: a new ride to carry on the the Nemo theming

Journey to Your Imagination: bring back the original

Canada, France and China: new films, and seating ...PLEASE!!!!

Maelstrom: longer steeper drops

Rio Del Tiempo: all new storyline to the ride

Odyssey: I know that this isn't an attraction, but it would be a GREAT place for a new character meal!

Sounds Dangerous-- scrap it and start over--- don't care what goes in there, but SOMETHING ELSE..... PLEASE

ABC Soundstage-- bring back the original attractions which used people from the audience to act in real sitcome scenes

Star Tours--- new story line--- I like the previous idea of the 3 different films to get more mileage out of the attraction!

Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular---- change it into the Indiana Jones Ride like at Disneyland

Tarzan Rocks--- cut Turks rap, PLEASE! We leave when Turk comes out!

Hester and Chester's -- more kid friendly rides... could make it into a regular little carnival for the younger set! Put in a ferris wheel, some little boats that go in a circle, etc... Make it truly the kids section of the park, since it already has the only kid oriented ride, and is next to the Boneyard.

Kali River Rapids--- longer!

Animal Kingdom--- more attractions overall... maybe a new attraction in Camp Mickey/Minnie!

I know it's defunked, but the Radio Disney boat ride in Animal Kingdom comes to mind. I seem to remember that people hated it because they played Radio Disney very loudly on the boats. Well I can tell you how appealing a nice boat ride sounded on many Hot Animal Kingdom days. Maybe they should call it the Ice Cream Boat. Instead of Music, they should supply Ice cream cones. That is a ride I :Pinkbounc would definately enjoy!

Tower of Terror: Just go back to that ONE drop. Can't stand going up and down like a Yo-Yo.

Uncleromulus - I'm with you on that one. I liked it better with one big drop. MY DS, however, likes it better this way.

Celebgrrl - I couldn't agree more with Spaceship Earth - Love the ride - HATE those seats! They kill me.

Wonders of Life is such a wasted opportunity! I loved that pavillion, esp. Cranium Command. As celebgrrl & eeyore0062 mentioned already, some focus on Healthier Eating/Exercise is extremely relevant today!

I'd like to add River Country to the mix here - It should be re-opened as the themed swimming area for Fort Wilderness.

OH, NO!!!!

I hated it when it was just one big drop... why wait in line? I thought it was the lamest thing going. Now, I LOVE IT!

Bring on the Thrill Rides!

I like ToT the way it is now :scared1:
Mission Space should have different scenarios eg if you dont hit your button on time when promted. The jungle cruise should have REAL animals in the jungle.
Tommorowland needs updating totally. :scratchin

ToT: Definitely go back to 1 drop!

CoP: Need to update the "future" stage. Everything they have in there is passe.

Country Bears: I saw this for the first time last year, and I was bewildered. I had no idea what they were singing about, or what was going on. The animatronics were choppy and the whole thing was just BIZARRE!! Needs new jokes and songs.

El Rio del Tiempo: I think this is the funniest ride ever... for the wrong reasons! I think it portrays Mexicans in a kind of bad light... even though it makes me LMAO

The Magic of Disney Animation: I just thought this was plain boring. But maybe I'm just nostalgic for Walter Cronkite and Robin Williams. Since they don't even do animation in Florida anymore, they should turn this into something completely different.

Indiana Jones: The jokes and stunts have been exactly the same for 10 years. It's time for a change.

Kali River Rapids: Needs to be longer. It's over in like 2 seconds.

Yeesh...tough crowd.

Frankly I am happy with most of the rides/shows etc at Disney. I just love it all! Some things that may be considered "cheesy" are really nostalgic and would cause an uproar if changed (like JIYI originally, Mr. Toad, AE). That said, I might consider an update to some of the following, so long as the main theme or gist of the ride goes untainted:

Stitch Encounter: needs to be scrapped and put back the way it was as Alien Encounter. Not every ride needs to be kid friendly.

Timekeeper: A wasted space at the moment. I am sure they could design a cool ride or show to fill that void (though I DID enjoy Timekeeper very much)

Space Mountain: I agree with the poster who suggested higher backed seats. Other than that DO NOT TOUCH! I heard they are revamping DL's Space Mountain...a mistake IMO.

Grand Prix Raceway: Those seats!! They are volcanically hot in the summer sun. I had bad burns each time I tried to ride it. There must be a way to fix it.

20,00 Leagues: Useless right now, but either a Nemo based ride or I still think a Monster's Inc. thrill ride where you are going through all the closet doors like the end of the movie.

Skyride: Bring it back!!

All of the lines that are out of doors should have misters that turn on when the temp reaches past 80. And at least a shady place to wait.

The Living Seas: This could be a terrifc Nemo based ride, though I think it fits better at MK. Here they simply need to work harder at making it an undersea research lab. Wave generators could show how tsunami's happen (not a ride but a tank you can watch), feeding the dolphins, or one of those imax/motion rides that takes you into the marianas trench to come face to face with a charcharodon megalodon (a giant prehistoric great white shark!!) that would be AWESOME. Frankly Dis should buy the wright's to Steve Allen's book "Meg", make a movie and then create a ride. It'd make Jaws at Universal look like nemo!

The Land: They did the right thing making "Soarin'" a ride there but it doesn't fit with the "land" theme....it's really an "air theme". So I say bring in "Storm Rider" from Tokyo Disneysea and rename the pavilion "Air Adventures" or something like that.

JIYI: Just go back to the way it was before the revamp. Sorry Eric Idle.

Wonders of life: I think Kitchen Cabaret should go here. I loved that kitchy show. Then just reopen it...doy!

All of WS is fine IMO. I don't personally like the circlevision movies but they are nostalgic (perhaps needing an update every 5 years would be good).

The Magic of Disney Animation: Kind of weird since they don't animate there anymore. I think it can be made into a ride JUST like Spiderman except you are riding through Disney Movies. Think Philharmagic meets Spiderman.! It starts off where you are riding quietly through a "backstage" type tour watching animators, when tinkerbell gets angry at an animator for something and refuses to let him have her pixie dust, instead throwsx it at you, the audience, catapulting you into the cartoon!

Sounds Dangerous: I LOVED it when it was the MOnster Sound Show. Bring it back now!! frankly I liked Superstar Television too.

The Indy Stunt Show: Really needs to be the Temple of the Forbidden Eye ride from DL doesn't it?

Aside from that it's ok with me!
