On Your First Heavenly Birthday

Gabrielle's first Heavenly birthday is coming on August 16.

I have written this poem and I thought I would share.

On Your First Heavenly Birthday

On your First Heavenly birthday,
I don’t know what to say.
My heart still feels like breaking,
I think of you every day.

By now you would be crawling
Across the kitchen floor.
Or maybe even following
Your sisters out the door.

Your brothers would be trying
To teach you how to talk.
And mommy and daddy
Could be taking you for a walk.

But, on your First Heavenly Birthday
Those things aren’t meant to be.
God had different plans for you
It wasn’t up to me.

Though I still don’t understand,
He did what He knows is best.
So I will have to bide my time
Until I, too, come home to rest.

For now I send you wishes
Of love and hugs so tight.
A cloud can be your birthday cake
And a star your candle bright.

For a present I will send you
My love every day and night.
Know that mommy misses you
Someday I’ll hold you tight.

Enjoy your birthday, little girl.
Ride a rainbow across the sky.
And keep an eye on all of us
From where angels dare to fly.

Wow, Absolutely beautiful Kristy...brought tears to my eyes and goosebumps. You really should print that and frame it (if you haven't already done so).
