We are planning a trip to WL 1st week of June. I was planing on asking for an inner courtyard room perhaps 4th or 5th floors where we could sit on our balcony and see/hear the sliver creek falls and view the pool, geyser and bay lake. Was wondering if it were better to stay on the north side or south side. It's hard to tell from the map and pic's which would be better with an unobstructed view.

Then I read where some rooms overlook all of what I want and open up to the lobby on the inside...rooms like 5071 and 5073, but it seems to me they would be a little far from the falls and we wouldn't really be able to enjoy hearing them from our balcony. We have no kids and view is our #1 priority.

Lastly, is it possible to pay for a concierge upgrade and have key access to the 7th floor, but stay elsewhere with the views I'm wanting? Definitely want an open balcony/water views. HELP!

Keith, I don't have answers about the views, but last May my DW and I stayed at the Villas WL. We were on the Grand Plan and had access to the 7th floor concierge even though we were staying in the Villas. They gave us a separate keycard for the elevator (so we had 2 keycards to track, but it wasn't a big problem).

Have I got the answers for you.:D We were at WL 2 weeks ago. I had booked a Courtyard room and then faxed a request for non-smoking, bunk beds and a good view. We were assigned room 5025 which met all of the requests. We were pretty much even with the waterfall. You could definitely hear it and could clearly see about 1/2 of it.

Anyway when checking in I asked about a Concierge level upgrade and was able to do it for $35. It was well worth it too. But, the rooms on the 7th floor weren't as good as what we had already booked. They either didn't have bunkbeds or they weren't as good of a view. So, we kept our 5th floor room and had Concierge priveleges added to that room. Our keys allowed us access to the 7th floor and when we called the Concierge they new we were ok for service. We even had turn down service. If we had been just a little further down the hall toward the lake we would have been able to see the entire falls and still have a good view of the lake. That would be room 5021. I don't know what the bedding situation is in those rooms. Since you won't have kids you probabally don't want a bunk bed room.

The only problem with room 5021 is your view of the Electric Water parade would be more obstructed by trees. We were able to see the front half of it from our balcony. I took a picture of the view from our room. If you would like I can send it to you.

Keith - my apologies as I'm about to Hijack your post....;)

Elk34 - We're going to the WL in May and I also wanted to make some room requests (upgrade, n/s, bunks et c)...and IYHO, am I better off calling or faxing? Do you have the fax# to pass on?

Also - did I read in your trip report (that I can't find) that you were a flag family??? What time did you raise the flags??

Thank you....

You too, Keith :)

I was a flag family last summer and it was done around 8:00 am.
You raise a number of flags(1 USA, 2 WL, 1 Fla. and WDW). You do a few other things. In all it takes about 30 minutes.

I don't think they allow you to phone in a request. You pretty much have to fax it in. The rooms are assigned 4 days before you arrive so that is when you should fax the request. Go to this site for detailed info. I followed its instructions to the letter and it worked perfect for us. I'm sure it doesn't always work out that way but it should increase your chances.

Yeah I think we were supposed to be downstairs at 8:15. We were met by the Ranger. We then took the elevator to the 7th floor. from there we went up 2 staircases to the roof. These staircases were locked and not open to the public.

We raised 5 flags. My wife raised the US flag and one daughter raised the Florida flag and the other the Disney flag. The Ranger raised the 2 WL flags. It was a little hazy that morning so our view was limited but it was still fun. The Ranger said that on clear days you could see all the Disney Parks and Sea World.

We weere done by about 9:00. The next week they mailed 2 Magical Moments certificates to my daughters with their names printed on them.

Thank you both so much!

Glad I asked about phoning or faxing....we've booked the land/sea package and DCL tells me to call resorts for questions like this and resorts tells be to call DCL since it was booked through them....glad I have here to find out what really to do!

Many thanks again!
