On what side of the ship are the concierge lifeboats?

Our family of three will be going on our first Disney cruise in 2016. We are celebrating some milestones, birthday and anniversary, and decided to splurge and book concierge. I'm still in a little sticker shock at the cost and already know the next Disney vacation probably won't be until 2018. From what we've read, it just seems heavenly and probably a once in a life time for us.
When you contact shoreside concierge at 125 days, make sure you tell them about what you are celebrating and for whom. I'm sure a little "pixie dust" will be sprinkled somewhere along the way.

Our first DCL on the Dream with our 3 kids (18, 20, 22) was in 2 deluxe family staterooms with veranda. The past 2 times on the Fantasy, my wife and I have been in a cat T. We are pretty much do it yourself-ers and don't expect the hosts or anyone else to really go out of their way to attend to us. We like the cabana on CC and like the extra space of the stateroom, the convenience of the lounge, proximity to the spa, quiet part of the ship, satellite falls is right upstairs, and being able to book Palo, Remy, and spa times without worry. We probably spend more than we "need" to, but it just makes for a lot better winding-down, no-worries time for us. We will likely go concierge from here on out.

each time we book we contemplate concierge but can never justify the cost vs. amenities. We've always been able to book Palo/Remy, always booked the tasting we want, and really dont have a desire for a cabana - maybe b/c our son has always been a toddler, we just dont spend that much time at CC to justify a cabana. We usually end up back on the ship to enjoy the pools.

Food is plentiful and we bring on our own alcohol as well as spend, on average, $300-500 on drinks one aboard in addition to the wine package.

I just cant think of any other reason, for us, to spend the additional funds on concierge rather then the family deluxe w/ verandah. But hey, to each their own.

Ahhh, I saw this thread title and came to watch the flame wars only to find everyone being all civil answering a real question.

The convenience and accessibility of that coffee machine in the concierge lounge makes the up charge to concierge worth it to me. My wife and I have enjoyed booking a cabana but I think we are going to skip that for our upcoming christmas sailing. As mentioned most of the other onboard amenities are available to anyone if you can get your booking made in time. Either way it's a Disney cruise so of course it will be awesome.

I think concierge guests (well, cat T or higher) go to the concierge deck, and are served concierge snacks while waiting for the concierge helicopter to pick them up. They can order from the MDR menu while waiting.

Seriously, this thread wins the prize for the best title ever!

I dont even want to know what the Concierge guests get on a DVC only cruise but I have heard of a private dolphin encounter in the Quiet Cove pool

Sailing inside cabin on one of my cruises this fall, I guess i'll have to swim for it if the boat goes down! :fish:
Too bad you're on the Wonder, and not the Dream or Fantasy. You could have used their virtual portholes to jump overboard.

To be fair it can be a valid concern. You wouldn't want to have to stand on the side of the ship that is in the sun now would you? :rotfl2:
