We just got back and I just want to share......
While on the shuttle, especially at the end of the day when the park is closing and everybody wants to get on the bus, the shuttle is always packed.
Some people have to stand on the 10-15 minute ride to the hotel.

Please give your seat to those who looks like they need it more than you do. I know everybody is tired, but if you see a parent holding a toddler, please give your seat to them.

One night we were coming back from Magic Kingdom. We had to stand. There was two men carrying their respective toddlers in their arms. And one lady in front of one of these men had her BAGS on the seat next to her. That's just rude. And when the bus stopped one of the guys almost fell over and some passengers laughed at him.
One of these guys was my husband, carrying our 4 year old (she looks more like a 6 year old, 55 lbs) who fell asleep after a long day.

The night before we both gave our seats to parents holding their sleeping kids, and I was proud of my husband for doing that.

And the bus driver tried to be festive and everybody sing Happy Birthday to a birthday person on the bus. Ha. I'd rather see people helping others in need.

You can also do what we do, if you need a seat and there aren't any, wait for the next bus. At closing it's probably only a few minutes away.

That's what we do as well... Most times we would be given a seat when we had our baby our arms. If the bus looks packed, we wait a few minutes for the next one. Especially if the little one is calm and sleeping. I would never stay on a moving bus with a little one in my arms! Too dangerous!

I would have asked the lady politely if I could have sat where she had her bags. It is rude to take up a seat with bags that could be put on a lap!

I think should be common courtesy on all public transportation! I have seen people on our public transit who won't give their seat to a senior who obviously can't stand on the bus.

I do agree that people should give up their seats for those who need one, if they can.

Unfortunately it's up to you to decide if you want to load a full bus and stand or wait for the next one. You should never expect someone to get up for you. Now I would have politely told that woman to move her bags.

We always have many, many threads about giving up your seat on the bus for those who are more needy. I agree it is rude to keep bags on the seat instead of letting someone sit there. BUT, my family will always step aside when we come upon a full bus because most of us have issues that are not visible, but would make it hard for us to stand on the bus. We would rather step aside and wait for the next bus so we can sit, then to get on a crowded bus and stand or expect others to get up for us. Everyone has the option to make that same choice.
