Yep, during my interview we talked at pretty good length about my theatre and teaching background (14 years of theatre and 2 years teaching), so we established that I have experience with memorizing and delivering information to groups of people. Yesterday when I was called about this position, it was indicated that my theatrical/presentation background as well as my education background (I'm a grad student) were one of the reasons why they were offering this to me.


As it was explained to me, the spiels I'll be delivering vary between 10-14 pages of script/information regarding one (or more) of the various sponsors within Innoventions; for example, one would talk about Underwriters Laboratories and what they do. Apparently during training I will be coached and tested (eek!) on the sponsor, the products, and the technology.

Yep, as a Innoventions Presenter Host or Hostess, you're basically be facilitating the various exhibits within Innoventions at Epcot, as well as Mission: SPACE Race, the interactive experience located at the exit of the Mission: SPACE Attraction.

It's a lot of spieling, and I do believe they put a heavy emphasis on sticking to the script, because a lot of it is dictated by the legal agreements in place between Walt Disney Parks and Resorts US, Inc. and the sponsoring corporations. However, based on your experience, I think you'll be fine.

To top it off, there's a $1.00/hour premium rate for all Cast Members in Innoventions Presenter positions, which always helps.

So, I called about my role disappearing and they basically didn't tell me why it did, but they confirmed that I am in the system as "Attractions" (I was hoping they would tell me what I am specifically but oh well).

So, basically, if your role disappears, it means nothing.
