We are on the fence, as the saying goes, about booking Whispering Canyon for Dinner. (9 people, ages 2 to 50+)

For those of you who have been there, is the "entertainment"

1. good ol' fun
OR
2. too "cheesy!"

VOTE NOW! heehee

ps If this tells you anything about our preferences, we all thought the entertainment at Spirit of Aloha Dinner was horribly "cheesy." Actually, just plain horrible. Just our humble opinions!

It depends on the "personalities" of your group....fun and like silliness.....or totally annoyed and bothered by goofy-ness ?? You have to go in wanting to be "played" with....
We had a group of 10 ppl (6 adults ages 40-65 and 4 kids ages 3-10)!!
We all enjoyed it very much, and went there just for the fun and games !!!
AND The food was good too...
The kids got to do stick pony races, Our server made us cool hats out of the napkins (which we wore) we celebrated a B-Day and had to Prance around the entire WL lobby singing...lots of fun, really !!
Where else can you find a restaurant like that ??!!
Give it a try and ENJOY !!! :thumbsup2 :tink:

When we went we were in a smaller room, and not the main dining room where it seems be loud and "busy". Our server was a little cheesy, but did not over do it. We had fun with most of the other patrons and with the waitstaff. Overall we did not find it intrusive or over the top. It just depends on your mood and personality. We do plan to go again during our next trip.

Definitely cheesey. We didn't like the food or the ridiculous antics. The setting is very nice, and we did have an enjoyable breakfast there once since the place was almost empty. IMO, there are better places to eat.

Great fun! One of our favorite Disney eating spots. Cheesy - yes, but fun!

I love it!!!! If it were up to me, it would be a must do on every trip!!!! My husband prefers 'Ohana, so that usually wins out (although I did finagle (sic?) a breakfast on our next trip. It's lots of fun!!!!!!

MOst folks seem to like it--I didn't.
If the idea of a server banging the serving tray on the floor and yelling "Ye Hah!!! (about 3 dozen times per half-hour) might be a problem--don't go. THose are the sort of antics La2kw is talking about

Another vote for big fun at WCC! It's my family's favorite place to eat--mainly because of the wait staff. We love to twirl our napkins, wear silly napkin hats, and just generally be goofy. I don't find it cheesy.

Give it a try and see what you think!

As others have already said, it really does depend on the individual preferences of each person. Just as not everyone would find an evening at the opera entertaining, not everyone will find the noise and "carrying on" at the WCC to be their cup of tea. Many people also don't like to have attention drawn to themselves and embarrass easily, so this should also be a consideration.

If you're more than willing to wear napkin hats and dance the hokey-pokey till the cows home, you'll have a great time. WCC isn't a quiet, leisurely place for dinner, but if you're into participation dining, it can be a bit of a laugh.

Good luck!

Please be sure to ask for Ketchup!

What's it mean??? Just ask and you'll find out!! ROFL

WCC is both fun and cheesey. If you are more into the antics go for breakfast or supper; lunch is more subdued.

We ate there twice in October and didn't really see antics either time. The food was just ok. I'm not racing back.

Or diet coke, or a refill on your drink, or heaven forbid your cell-phone rings. No DH definately did not like the antics here. He shakes his head everytime we walk through the WL lobby. This is the one and only restaurant he refuses to eat at.

if you ask for ketchup they bring you dozens of bottles!! Smae if you ask for refills, you better be thirsty :sunny:

ITA, it can go either way depending on the group you are with and the server. We have been there a few times, only once being "boring". I have to say though, the last time we were there it was one of the most memorable experiences we have had at WDW.

It started with 6 pre and teen boys tired from the night before. They are always used to being reminded about the appropriate behavior in a restaurant. The CM came over and threw about 150 straws all over the table - the kids perked up. When I picked up a straw and shot the wrapper at the kids it started a war (we were by ourselves and cleaned up so not to be annoying to others). With that, a crumpled paper came flying over the wall from another table. We started another war with them which ended in one of the DS being put in JAIL.

After that, my dear friend, when asked where we were headed, answered Universal! Totally out of the blue, since we had no plans to go there. They made her ride the stick pony around the place saying "There's no place like Disney"..Her boys almost died from laughing.
I am not usually a person that enjoys this kind of place, but it can be a HOOT!
Needless to say, the kids all left laughing!
