On-Site or Priceline resort?? what would you do?

I have noticed that the Gaylord Palms and the Wnydham Palace Resort and spa have come up on Priceline.
We have used PL many times and I want to this time as well.

here is the problem though:

My SIL/BIL are coming on this trip and they want to do the magical gatherings firework cruise. IT will cost us about $110 to
do this each family. You must be staying onsite. So we would be
staying at POP with AP/AAA rate whichever is better.

Is it worth staying on site at a value versus a nicer deluxe
off-site resort? Just to do the fireworks cruise?

It's worth it to stay onsite just to stay onsite, without the added benefit of the cruise. Disney bus service, Mickey wakeup calls, resort package delivery, charging everything to your room, EMH... There's a lot of value in that.

I think it's worth it to stay onsite, although the Gaylord Palms is an impressive resort, and very worth it if you get that at $65. Not so much so for the Wyndham- I'd rather stay at the Pop than the Wyndham. I believe the Gaylord Palms had hourly service to the parks in a greyhound type bus last time I was there, so not quite as convenient as the Disney bus service. I guess it comes down to choices, and how badly you want a luxury resort.
