On-site Alamo Car Rental

I have booked a 1 day car rental through Costco for Alamo on-site at Aulani. How quick is it to pick up a car when they open at 8am? Trying to book some tickets off site and not sure how efficient they are right now at getting cars put to people.

Is your plan to pick up and return the same day? If so, why not pick up late the day before and return the following day. That way the car would be in the parking garage and available at your convenience in the morning.

You have to pay overnight fees in that case, and then it's a 2 day rental I believe.

You're correct. I just checked for our trip next February/March and the quote was $3,500 for four weeks...yikes!!

No, members still get free parking. We had a car the whole week for our trip 2 weeks ago, but did pickup at the airport Alamo.

You get free self parking if you're staying on points, regardless of whether you're a member.

As PP pointed out, as a point of clarification, you get free parking staying on points. That could be non-members on rented points too. If you're member but not staying on your points for some reason, you would not receive free parking that trip.

OP, I believe you can do online check in to help expedite the process too. We got our car from the airport through Alamo and the process was quick, save for the line we had to wait in. I would suggest getting to the counter early.

I think (but don't know for sure) that Blue Card members get free parking when staying on cash as a Membership Extra.

You can try. The thing with rental cars is that they can charge you for those extra hours if they want to. I found that it depends on the employee helping you.

Go to the website of the agency and put in the new times and see what the price is. If you have a Costco membership check the prices through their website.

FYI - I just rechecked car rental rates for my trip in November and costs were way down - like 1/2 the price of when I booked a month ago.

I had booked through Costco to rent Fri-Mon at the Alamo onsite at Aulani, now I'm able to get the whole trip at a weekly rate from Hertz (my preference) at the airport for <$100 more. Considering we won't need an XL Uber to/from the airport its a much better deal.

Seems like rates have come down, but I suggest checking a few different ways and using corporate or credit card discount codes where you can.

I'm seeing a lot more reasonable pricing for my dates (Mid Feb) on small vehicles, but nothing for larger vehicles. I'm going with a party of 8, meaning we need a full size van or two cars. I'd prefer two cars for the convenience but I don't want to pay 2x Aulani parking prices.

The rental desk at Aulani closes at 1 pm
