My mom and sister may join us for our next trip and we’d all like to stay in property.

Would our best bet be a suite? I’ve looked at the one and two rooms but I’m confused as to how many they really sleep comfortably.

Another options would be booking two rooms. Would we be able to get two rooms next to each other?

I thought of maybe renting DVC points but to be honest I don’t understand the process.

If you can plan enough in advance (usually at least 7 months or more), renting a 2 bedroom at the grand Californian from an owner would be best, or 2 studios, but studios won't be connected and don't have kitchens (2 bedroom does, plus 3 bathrooms!). A dedicated 2 bedroom has 3 beds, single Murphy bed, plus a sleeper sofa. The studios have a bed and sleeper sofa. The DVC rooms have the BEST views of DCA. :)

You can find an owner on the rental board here. Go with one that has a lot of posts.

Cheapest option would be two rooms. Almost room at the Grand has an adjoining option so that is a request that they should be able to accommodate no problem even though they do not guarantee anything.

We usually do two rooms for my family of 5, especially now that my kids are older and my MIL frequently travels with us. There are connecting rooms available (at least at the PPH and the GCH). The few times we haven't gotten a connecting room they were able to put in rooms next to each other.

A one bedroom suite will be able to sleep all of you, if two are willing to sleep on the fold out couch. A 2 bedroom will give everybody a bed (assuming 2 to a bed).

You’ll have to watch prices to see if two different rooms or a suite will be more cost effective. We’ve had it both ways. If they’re even close in price for your date, I prefer the suite for the extra living space plus you’re guaranteed to be together.

That said, when we’ve requested connecting rooms, we’ve always gotten them.

At the DLH or Paradise Pier, one bedrooms suites would fit everyone. At DLH, a 1 bedrooms would give you 2 queens and a queen sofa and 1.5 baths. It is usually cheaper than 2 rooms. At PPH you would get 2 queens, a queen sleeper, 2 full baths.

David's Rentals is great, but have never been able to get it for the Grand.
