? on points and transfers

I am waiting on ROFR from Disney, if all goes well I should be a member by the beginning of April. I have a trip planned for August and would like to stay DVC rather than CSR. Here is my question:

I will have points from the resale though not alot, but will have the option to borrow from 07. However I do not want to do that, I would like to go next June, maybe to VB and will need the points for that.

Can I (if they have the accomindations I need for Aug) use my points at the reservation and then ask for points to transfer on the DIS. If I get my points can I then ask MS to move my original points back into my acct and use the transfer points?

This is a little confusing, I know. But only a true Disney fan would go through all this. I would never tell DH what options I dream up just to get to Disney!

First of all, good luck with the ROFR!

The answer to your question is "Maybe" or "It depends". You can't just substitute the transferred points for the points used for the reservation. It will depend if there is availability or a waitlist for the dates of your reservation. MS would have to cancel the original reservation, check the waitlist and then re-book the reservation. So you could lose your reservation.

If it were me, I'd transfer in points that would be good for the VB reservation next June. Much simpler to do and less risky - you wouldn't need to buy points until you are sure you are really going.
