Firstly, we have never been to DL, so your help is appreciated!! We may not get there again either, but who knows.;)

I have already got a room booked at the Candy Cane Inn for Memorial Day Sunday for 3 nights(after our cruise),and was just browsing the Disney site which has their onsite rates up now. To stay at the DLH is $60 per night more. Do you think it would be worth changing? Would the experience of staying at DLH be worth the extra. I don't mind the motel style room at CCI for 3 nights and it does have a breakfast, but did just wonder..........!:)

Personally, we really like the Candy Cane Inn, and don't really spend much time at the hotel anyway, so I would not spend the extra $60/night just to stay on-site. Now if the GCH was available for only $60/night more... that might be worth considering!

We are staying at the DH next week, this will be our 3rd stay there. I would say since this might be your only trip to go ahead and change and stay at the DH. I've never stayed at the CCI but the DH is awesome, the pool is great and the walk thru downtown disney after a day in the park is really cool. Plus you get early entry every day it is available during your stay and you can also ride the monorail if you don't feel like walking. We have stayed off site many times and we will choose on-site everytime if we can.

This is my 3rd time staying at the DLH. I would rather stay off site and walk in. The first two times (since November 2006) was for conferences for my DH so we didn't have to pay for the room and this time is because my father isn't doing too well and he really wanted to stay there. If it were my choice I would stay off site. I would rather have a kitchenette and it's so much cheaper!

We haven't stayed at DH, but we have been to CCI twice, and GCH once. We love both, but if money isn't an issue, we will take onsite everytime. The convenience of early entry on all days it is available, and being immersed in Disney magic 100% of the time is just too good to pass up. The CCI, though is great. Its a beautiful motel, with great service, a nice pool area, great breakfast, a reliable deicated shuttle, and an easy walk to the front gates. You won't be disappointed with staying there if you would rather spend that extra $60/nite on souvies or fabulous meals.

I mean its always fun to stay at a Disney resort, but honestly I think off site hotels are just as fab. Some are even closer then the Disneyland hotel itself and are so much cheaper by far. :thumbsup2 Any time you can save yourself some money then why not? I personally love the Tropicana.

I am picky, and I LOVED the Candy Cane Inn. It was clean and up-to date. I liked the breakfast too. The staff was friendly, and they had a convenient shuttle.

I really loved the CCI, it was clean and the beds were comfy, and the pool and the breakfast were great. Oh, and the staff was super friendly and helpful!

That said, for only $60 more, I would stay at the DLH if it was not going to ruin my budget. The walk to the CCI is not bad, and the shuttle is nice, but you can't beat the convenience of having the monorail to drop you right at your hotel.

I'm the oddball in my group that gets frustrated by the monorail. :goodvibes I got stuck in tomorrow land once (I know... there are worse places to be stuck for certain). I was in the middle of the line for monorail, and they shut it down for the firework show (train too). I couldn't see the show from the line, and even if I could have gotten out of the line, there was no way I could have gotten through the crowds in the hub to exit the park. :confused3 As I said... there are worse places to be stuck! And yes, I'm the one who picks the longest line at the supermarket too!

That said... the monorail was a GREAT was to enter the park in the mornings! :thumbsup2 Even when we've stayed at CCI, the line to enter the park there was shorter if we walked down to the monorail entrance, than the lines were at the main entrance to the park.

I have stayed at both and I think they both are wonderful choices. The CCI is a cute motel and one of the only offsite motel's with a private shuttle to DLR. But the DLR is great if it is your first time going. The atmoshpere keeps the disney spirit alive through the whole stay. Rooms are decorated Disney style and have easy access to the parks. I love the CCI but I think that it is worth the extra money to stay at DLR.:thumbsup2
