On no! Liquid Diet?

Thanks everyone. Looks like the poor kid will be able to eat something.

And yes, a liquid diet (on advice from 2 orthos and a dent, I believe in second options). She has an abnormal bite and currently her top teeth sit on the lower brackets of the braces. If she chops down, she is likely to break them off and have to go to the ortho over in the States to have them reapplied. It's because she's going to the States over the first two weeks that she is on the liquid diet. But on a bright note and with a bit of pixie dust, we have already seen marked change in her teeth. Ortho had a look at her teeth yesterday and there is a hope that she will be cleared for soft foods soon. Will it be soon enough? Well, we leave for Disneyland in 40 hours! Let's hope that the Tiki Gods are on our side.

Have a great trip and let us know how it goes! :goodvibes

My son has that same deep bite. His orthodontist put the top braces on first to correct the the top teeth, so his top teeth wouldn't break off the bottom bands. After a month or so, they put on the lower braces. I'm glad they did it that way. I can't imagine not letting a 14 year old boy eat.

You can easily eat Jamba Juice multiple times a day...

They will make anything you ask them to make and they have protien powder. THey call it a boost that they can add to any drink...

It is an easy run for someone in the family to do...

They can also add vitamins...

Oh I think that Disney has Kid meals that has these no crust white bread jelly and peanut butter sandwichs. What about hot cerals oatmeal, cream of wheat? thinned with milk. Broth clear soup.

Have you heard about the Magic Bullet? It is a high powered really small blender, with cups and lids. You just plug it in an load the food into the cup, then screw the top on put in in the base twist it and in under a minute the food is blended. Even Ice. I got mine for $30. at Khol department store.

At Walmart...

I had braces for seven years. Four retainers, a pallet expander, two temporary retainers and just had my fifth mouth surgery. I have never heard of an all liquid diet except when I had my wisdom teeth pulled. Soft foods for the first few days.....mac and cheese, mashed potatoes ect. Other than that i dont see any reason why ONLY liquids would be necessary.

A little OT but I just had to chuckle..

I thought I was the ONLY one in the world that has had as much stuff done as you! Braces for 3 years, a pallate expander, jaw-bone removed, 8 teeth pulled, 'vampire teeth' on my bottoms for 1 year, and 2 retainers. Whew, glad I don't feel so alone and lost in the world!! :lmao:

I know you said she is not a big soup eater, but there are a couple soup bowls in Disneyland if she decides to give them a try. They have a brocolli cheese soup that she may be able to eat. And like other have said there is yogart. Also the mac and cheese she wouldnt really have to chew. I hope all goes well for you guys. :flower3:

:rotfl: I did laugh as I read your response. I'm so glad to see others in the world who have been through my pain. "Literally" I must say looking back on photos as a kid till now (I am 16) my teeth look amazing and I now have the perfect smile!
