Well it's taken 6 months here but I think I'm finally on my way to being a big city girl
I've had to go into D.C. for a meeting which I wore cute flats with my heels in the big purse to put on before going into the meeting. Practical and looking cute. I'm making progress and even managing to switch metro trains all by myself!
Last weekend we went to Annapolis for the weekend. We loved it! It's gorgeous there and so peaceful. I'm sure the locals just wished the visitors would leave them all alone in their little piece of heaven. We did the crabbing thing. Nothing like beating the crap out of your food with a mallet to make you feel better or smiling pretty when you spray crab on people sitting next to you
This past Friday we did the Virginia state fair. It was great! Gorgeous old horse farm and even had trailers hooked to tractors to take you where you needed to go. Very well spread out so you aren't crowded in everywhere. Overall the fair was the cleanest fair I've ever seen. I highly encourage all to go.
This past Saturday we went to the Book Festival sponsored by the Library of Congress. Sooo crowded and hard to manuver but it was neat seeing everyone out trying to find their favorite authors and meeting them. My husband took a picture with his favorite author and then the author wanted his own picture with my husband because he was a "war veteran."
On the metro home, three lost women asked my husband and I for help to get to their next location. What do you know? I actually knew where they needed to go and even threw in a couple of suggestions of sites and food. I was so proud that I knew that much.
Today I sat in traffic for 48 mins to go not quite 4 miles and was all prepared with my coffee and muffin. This "country mouse" might turn into a big city girl yet.
